The price changed by check out into 85,- ( 58,- was said - very good deal and we especially asked it once more by check in to be certain ).
We concluded that, when we have a good price we always will ask to note it down, our we pay directly when we check in. Because it is easy in German to turn the figures around it almost sounds the same.
We advice travellers to do the same if you don't book in advance.

Decent hotel garni (no cafe/restaurant) on one of the entrance roads to the tourist village of Monschau (5-10 minutes walk to center).
Very clean, good beds, quiet nights, average breakfast. Excellent for sleeping, no more no less.

My wife and i spent 3 nights at Hotel Lindenhof. It is a very clean and comfortable hotel.

The Breakfasts were great and set you up for a day of exploring the little town of Monschau (5 minute walk from the hotel to the main square).

Monshau has a fantastic Xmas Market (small compared to some of the larger towns) but less crowed and more picturesque.

Stayed at the Lindhof while on a self guided tour of the Ardennes region. The hotel is fairly small but has super clean and functional rooms. Sevice was very good but only Frau Becht the owner(?) spoke english. Between my lousy german and her passable english I got along very well.(Most of the guests were european so language wasn't a problem for them). The breakfasts were sumptous but no other meals are served. The hotel is ideally located for trips to Belgium, Germany and Luxemburg. Road systems in surrounding areas are excellent.
Nice bar and overall picturesque,quiet hotel. Absolutely no complaints and management was very helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.
