We stayed here while visiting family in Hannover and we wanted a cheap and convenient base - which this was, with some additional quirks! We had two rooms opposite each other for the children and ourselves. Rooms are basic but clean and fine for a weekend. We had a room looking onto the garden and enjoyed the peace and quiet - we have usually stayed at one of the city hotels and been bothered by the noise. Showers look old fashioned but are powerful, although the shower rooms are small. The whole decor of the place is a 1970s dream - tiled with different tiles all over in colours and patterns you haven't seen for years and old fashioned wallpaper in clashing textures and colours in the different rooms. We thought it was odd at first, but liked the unusual atmosphere. The kids had a wonderful time - the large pool was really good, and we made good use of the party/games room - table tennis, darts and tv with video/dvd. We borrowed bikes and went for rides round the city park, which is just round the corner.
Breakfast was good - standard continental buffet with usual German good bread rolls, ham, cheese, etc.
It's family run, and the staff were relaxed and friendly, took the trouble to get the right size bike for our smaller son.
We'd stay here again, for reasons of price and location mainly, but also it's a lot more individual than the chain hotels and all the more interesting for that!
