OK let´s set it straight from the beginning. For 51 €/night in a three star hotel you do not expect that much but even my low expectations were not met.
The hotel is situated directly to a well driven road which makes for early wake up noise (add to that the church next to it) but that was known after a short look on Google maps. But there is another source of noise as well and the reason for this are the thin walls which do not that much in hiding what people on the corridor and in rooms next to yours do. If you use the toilets, your neighbours will know and vice versa.
The rooms are small, dark with only the barest amount of amenities and since all guests have to fight the mosquitos the walls are quite stained. btw, the carpet has become run down as well. The corridors leading to the rooms are long and dark, lighting is provided too little too late.
One main disadvantage is that there is no separation between the restaurant and the hotel so the greasy smell permeates through the hotel and into the rooms, meaning that your clothing will get smelly.
I was tempted to give the hotel a second star due to the nice breakfast (nothing too special but good quality and choice) but alas it turned out you have to pay for scrambled eggs (yes, simple scrambled eggs, made fresh but no expensive ingredients) and that I have never experienced in an hotel before.
They do have some nice arrangements though and if you are on a budget that might work out for you but otherwise I´d strongly recommend to not take this hotel. A stay directly in Burg would also give you the possibility to reach a lot of nice points via foot.
btw, Werben itself has nothing to other in terms of entertainment and if you are not in the mood to drive in the evening the TV set is minuscule.
The staff was friendly and efficient, but in the end that did not help in the overall rating.
