I stopped in this hotel for the Berlin marathon in september and although I found the hotel fine,it is too far from Berlin.Once on the metro its not too bad but its such a long walk to the station, got to be over a mile.And from the airport I think it was about 60euros in a taxi, you could get the train and buses but at 11 oclock at night and 2 flights not something I fancied.
The room was fine,bar was ok,bit expensive but so was germany as a whole.Didnt book breakfast but sneaked in every morning and wasnt asked any questions.Found Berlin a great city,saw the wall,brandenburg gate,tv tower,checkpoint charlie,had fantastic weather and ran the marathon.Would not stop here again unless you had a car

I and my group stayed for two days at this hotell, and we will never come back! The staff was very unfriendly and rude. No free internett, when I asked to buy for som hours, the receptionist, gave med a rude answer, shaked her head and laughed at me. Asking to buy wather, she became annoyed when I asked twice, because I did not understand her whispering. Some persons who shared a room togheter, had to get the receptionist to unlocked their door, she became very furious because they had not turn off the light at the room...Next day when the group return to the hotell after visiting Berlin, a key to one room was missing( we all had given our keys to the receptionist when we leave earlier), the receptionist became very furious and yeld that the persons in this room had missing the key on the trip and want them to pay for a new key!! When we asked her to looked after the key at her disk, she found it at once..We asked her for an excuse, she throw the key to us, said "sorry" with a very annoyed voice..When I and my roommate came to our room, the door was unlocked after the cleaning personal had been there, Fortunately nothing was taken, but we both had some expencive things who could have been stolen..We did not give a message to the staff about this, because they would not care.. The day after, when we were chekking out, a friend of mine payd a room bill of 5 euro. When we satt in the buss, the receptionist run to the buss with the same bill my friend just have paid for and telling our guide that she had not paid the bill!! Fortunately she got a paper where the receptionist had sign that she had paid the bill..At last,the restaurant personal was also rude, when I and my friends take some drinks after dinner, the lady who served us beg us to leave, because she was tired of us buing drinks of her, and she had better thing to do (the restaurant was not closed). At all, a terrible stay because of the moody staff, who gave an attitude that they did not want visitors there, especially people who was not German citizens. My recommend is: do not ever consider this hotell for your stay in Berlin!

In May I decided to go to Berlin. I found the Hoppegarten Hotel at a good price for a 4 stars hotel and it seemed to be in a good position. It was not.

Hoppegarten is far from Berlin Centre. The tube station is few kilometers from the hotel and the only way to get there is using a bus. Unfortunately there is a bus every 30 minutes and often is delayed or it does not come. The only way to reach the tube station is through a taxi that costs around 7 Euros. The train at the tube station does not come very often and there are no informations about that. The trip to get to Berlin Centre may take 45 minutes.

The hotel is big and quite. Rooms are simple and with old tv. Reception staff is not too helpful and do not consider to use internet. The charge is 3 Euros for 30 minutes.

We did not try the restaurant and breakfast.

Even if the price is ok, it rises considering the taxis necessary to go to and from the hotel. Probably, in the end, a 4 star hotel in Berlin Centre costs the same.

Clean hotel and easy accessible! One bus ride from the metro takes you straight there! Lovely location and worth the money
