Stayed for 2 nights only - flying visit literally. I can thoroughly recommend this accomodation. My room was more than ample, very cosy, comfortable, s/c facilities enough for a quick snack, beautiful surroundings and the lake is literally 30 steps from the front of the house. The owner is unbelievaby helpful. I arrived - together with a nasty heavy cold and felt awful and was unable to venture far. The main purpose of my visit was to take advantage of the cheap tobacco and very cheap flights but I felt so ill, I slept most of the time. On my last night, the owner very kindly took me to a hypermarket to allow me to get my supplies, and then took me a quick trip to the 'wall' area and gave me some very intresting information of how life has been over the past 20 years.
Breakfast is fabulous value - I was presented with enough food to last me a day (boiled egg, 2 piping hot crusty rolls, jam, a selection of meats & cheeses, cherry tomatoes, yoghurt and a piping hot pot of cofffe - served in the peacefulness of the breakfast room with a little candle (it was still dark!). The owner checked the internet for the best train connection, took me to the station and nothing at all was a problem. Wonderful hosts.
If you like cats, the hosts have 2 gorgeous black cats, Bobbi and Timmy - who are adorable. They don't come into your room - almost as though they are trained not to - but like all cats, they love the attention. Seeing them playing on the boat on the lake and walking around the edge of the boat was very amusing!
Location wise: mabye a little bit out but the bus and train connections are efficient. I recommend the Greek Restaurant, "Rhodes" (out the gate, turn right, walk to end of road, then turn left - straight walk and it is there approx 600metres). Near this is al a 'take away/sit in' pizza / kebab type shotp that sells cooked roast chickens - and they were selling like hotcakes. This little place also sells beer if you don't feel like getting dressed up - it's like a little 'pit stop' and is excellent value.
If you cross the road at this pizza/kebab shop, turn right, follow road around until you come to a main road, turn left and you will have reached a variety of food shops (an Aldi type store) and next to that a small indoor arcade that has a newsagents for tobacco/newspapers - and also houses an Italian Restaurant which also is very good for food and good value. Perhaps a 20 minute walk but no problem - all flat ground.
All in all, for the price of this accomodation, for the wonderful service given by the host, for a small selection of eateries within walking distance, this was a smashing little find.
