We had booked the "Sixties room" expecting that this would have been decorated in the sixties style but the furniture looked like it may have been there since the sixties. The chairs were falling apart at the joints, the patio door had a makshift hook to keep it closed and there were more chips in the toilet seat than could be counted. The room was spacious but there was no ceiling or wall lighting, illumination was provided by two tablelamps, one did not work and the other was very dim. There were also two bedside cabinet lights but with all the lights switched on it was still too dark to read. The reataurant area was better appointed but there was no a la carte menu and the three fixed menus were pricey and all contained items we would not want. Eventually we managed to negotiate certain items off the fixed menu without paying the set price. We would have chosen to eat out but there was nowhere else around.
When asking about breakfast I was informed that this was served from 0700 but at 0715 there was no sign of any breakfast preparations or anyone about. There was nomeans in reception of rousing anyone and I eventually did this by slamming a door a couple of times. By this time it was too late to eat and left without breakfast.
