My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Meunerie. Having read the two previous entries one good one bad we went with some trepidation. However we need not have worried, the hotel was superb and in a quiet country area with plenty car parking spaces. We had a very large bright room furnished in the Louis Quinze style, a huge bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and the best shower I have ever used. The provision of a kettle, coffee and tea was unusual in a Logis and most welcome.
I think the room was the one in the unfavourable review as there was a small chip on the (separate) toilet seat. This was so small and unimportant I really can’t see why this should feature so strongly in the review.
The hotel was very clean, the staff helpful, and they spoke a little English.
The dinner was very good. I would however with hind site have chosen the 29-euro menu, as the 54-euro with wine did not seem such good value. We had a glass of wine with the appetiser, one with the main course and one with dessert, unlike one reviewer who had 5 glasses. The wine was excellent.
The staff in the dining room were very attentive if a little formal, but this is probably a little unfair to them as they did not speak English and my French leaves a lot to be desired.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.
One other tip for anyone staying at this hotel, there is a small medieval town with a fortress and canals just a couple of miles down the road called “Bergues” which is a must to visit. There was a lovely circular walk outside the walls. We happened upon it by pure accident and it is really quite delightful.

Stayed just one night, as a stopover from Belgium to Dunkerque ferry.

Although the room was large, bed comfortable, and the large bathroom very grand complete with jacuzzi, the room was let down by chipped toilet seat and uncleaned and untidy and chipped patio area.

We did not try the restaurant - the fixed price menus seemed overpriced and included dishes we would not eat - pate de foie gras, for example.

Breakfast was a very sorry affair compared with what we had just experienced across Belgium - no choice of cereal, just a small bowl of cornflakes (in a bowl badly chipped in 2 places - reminiscent of the toilet seat!), one croissant each, one pain au chocolat each, and dry chiabatta bread plus jam. The only good part of breakfast were the fresh strawberries, but where was the normally excellent fresh bread and choice of cold meats? To add insult, one of our coffee cups was also chipped all round the rim. We were only glad we hadn't eaten dinner at this place. We most definitely would not stay here again or recommend it.

A small 8 room Logis on the round-about in this tiny but very clean village,20 minutes from the centre of Dunkerque.The 3 chimneys are well deserved,some English spoken.Room large and warm on arrival,large windows too 2 sides king bed 2 chairs and a table plus 2 easy chairs,decor was themed yellow,tv in french and 4 English stations kettle for tea/coffee,wc in lobby seperate bath/jacuzzi,stand alone shower. 2 sinks well light up quality soap/gels etc.
Restaurant has 40 covers spread over 3 interconnecting rooms,seperate lounge outside very comfortable,glass atrium conecting hotel to Restaurant,seating within looking over gardens,a sun trap in summer would guess.
Meals 28E 34E 68E.34E menu with wines included 53E excellent value as you get a different wine with each course 5 good size glasses of quality French wines.menu changes daily good fish as expected,good sized portions,chef trained buy 2 michelin star holder.expect a star will arrive here soon!
