We stayed there several time and have been able to watch the changes over the years.
Salins les Bains is first of all not a very exciting place in itself but can make a good base in order to go to Arc et Senans and its unique construction, visit Dole or make some real good healthy walks in the surrounding area. It makes also a good stop if you go to Switzerland.
Rooms are fairly big, we are a family of three and we had plenty of space to move around despite the luggage ... room and bathroom are clean, bedding excellent, traffic noise is kept away by efficient double-glazing.
Breakfast buffet is very good, staff very friendly and helpful. I do not know though if they are multi-lingual .... ???
They have in the same building, swimming pool, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, massage etc for a small fee, the hotel supplies bathrobe, swimming cap.
They used to have an excellent restaurant with fantastic local dishes and good wines, with a very good service; all this has changed, the cook is gone, the place has been entirely redecorated in a modern impersonal way which is not at all suitable for such a place, the food has changed with the departure of the master cook, the service has become unfriendly ... big deception. Alternative the restaurant LE PETIT BLANC which is in the same building but does not belong to the hotel, good regional food, friendly service, plesant surrounding although quite crowded in the evening as it is very popular with the locals.
This hotel is only a 2 stars hotel but is well above some 3 stars property ...
