“Nice location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

Location is very good, next to a nice family beach. Free parking, free wifi in the lounge area. The terrace is a nice place to chill and watch the world go by! They advertise an indoor heated pool, but you have to pay to use it. The rooms are nice and spacious, but I think that is because it used to belong to the hospital / care centre / reabilitation centre next door - plenty of room to get a wheelchair around. The theme of the hotel is wildlife/jungle, in the evening walking back to the room you can hear wild birds chirping! The only gripe I have is this; they have a selection of World clocks in reception, displaying the time of the most popular cities...except London? LOL I know, its silly, but very noticeable.

“Good but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

This hotel is in a very good position right adjacent to the beach. We had an excellent but expensive room with a balcony overlooking the beach with a fantastic view towards Biarritz. It is a bit like a very good Novotel in design and standards. The restaurant was good.
Very busy area as was to be expected in late August. Probably a lot nicer off-peak.
Huge choice of restaurants down the sea-front.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, which was disappointing. Although there is a mini-kitchen and fridge, but no utensils. What is it about these mini-kitchens? What purpose do they actually serve?
If you are looking for a beach holiday you would struggle to find anywhere better. If you want a quiet rest go in January!

“a perfect place to rest by the sea for a couple of nights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

Baya Hotel is right on the Atlantic Ocean. Clean, smart and gloriously airconditioned rooms provide the perfect amosphere for a refreshing sleep. The restaurant is particularlly good, small menu, but really good. Bar is good, service a little slow at times, but you can sit out on the deck and order great drinks overlooking the ocean, Front of house staff very professional and free parking for guests. House keeping very helpful, a decent outdoor pool, and children are made feel at home. Very good hotel.

“Excellent value, beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2009

Stayed here while on a 2 week tour around France/Spain. We only stayed for one night, but wished we would have booked it for more. The town is a cute surfer town, small, and people are very friendly. There were great waves, but we couldn't rent boards because the busy season had just ended and the rental shops were closed down for the winter. The hotel is a great location, right on the beach. It has a nice pool, but you don't even really need it because the beach is lovely. The hotel is basic but very clean, with a somewhat modern design. Staff were very friendly. There was a restaurant/bay on site, but we didn't eat there. Overall, a great place. We had just come from St. Emilion, France and could not believe that this hotel was the same price as the crappy one we had just come from! It also had free parking which was great because we had a rental car.
