The hotel is located right behind the beach. It is reachable by ferry from the town of Ploce, but also by car over the road on the Peljesac peninsula. I took the road-trip. The road is pretty narrow, with lots of curves, so it wasn't very pleasant for my children (5 & 6 y.o.). Parking was a lottery, and I won a place in a sunny spot. Some other were not so lucky.
BEACH
Great, clean, warm water, excellent to swim in. The pebble-beach is only meters from the hotel, and it is not very big. It is not as nearly clean as the beach in Brela, or Zivogosce, which annoyed me a bit.
RECEPTION STAFF
THe check-in was pretty quick, but all the time later on, the staff at the reception was somewhat uninterested in their guests. They seemed like sleepy, with slow answers, like... absent or something. Never seen something like that before. At the end of vacation I wanted to pay for the baby-bed my child used during the vacation, and it took them over 30 minutes to finish that, they seemed completely incompetent.
ROOMS and CLEANLINESS
The room was very small, and with an additional baby-bed it was virtually impossible to move in it. Luckily, it is air-conditioned, and has the sea-view with a small balcony, which partly compensates for the room size.
The maid entered the room only to change the towels. She never cleaned the ceramic-tile floor, nor the balcony. Only after I asked for the additional soaps and shower-gels did she start to bring them in. We also lacked a pillow, and they said that they didn't have any more "because they had a lot of guests" (*?????). I found it ourageous to have to sleep without a pillow all during the vacation!!! Either don't try to put so many guests into the hotel, or buy a couple of more pillows!!! The sheats on the beds wer not changed all the time during our one-week's stay at the hotel. I find this also outrageous.
THE FOOD.
Breakfast: not much of a choice: bread, cheese, jams, butter, margarine, salami, coffe, milk, cereals.
Lunch: 3 cooked sorts of meal, five sorts of salads, free non-alcoholic drinks (with an awful taste, you could see that it is just a diluted sirup with added CO2), soup, and for desert some dry cakes and ice-cream. THe fruit was fresh, though. One day my wife found uncleaned fish was being served for lunch, with bowels and all inside of it. We returned it to the chef. I wonder if he can eat something like that...
Dinner - same as lunch.
ANIMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT
One local guy and one resident animator from Chech republic tried their best, but it was nowhere near the Turkish concept of animation. I guess I could not expect more from the Croatians. The kids got their kicks with mini-disco, though.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Some ridiculously pricy outings by boat. I still can't believe how much Croatians want to get paid for a lousy service.
I'd rather reccommend you to go to Turkey for the vacation. The Croatians still have a lot to learn about tourism.
