If you are looking for a centrally located reasonable hotel and your expectations are not too high this is the place for you, it is clean and the breakfast was very good masses of choice all good quality food. The staff were polite and helpful. The outside of the hotel is classic 1920's. (They need to get rid of that shabby sign it lets them down badly). They have private secure parking for 7.50 euros per stay. The downside is the rooms are small but the bed is comfy, the flatscreen tv receives some UK channels and the bathroom is modern and clean.I think they have made a mistake with their decor trying to go for a contemporary provence look in the rooms, I thought the sandy colour washed walls made the room look like you had stripped the wallpaper and were midway through decorating and the bare floorboards although lovely condition (because they had been under lovely thick carpet for years my hubby tells me) made the room feel...I wouldn't say cold because it wasn't cold just not cosy. You have to remember this part of the coast is usually very breezy so when indoors it's nice to feel snug. And of course you remove the carpets and you do get a bit of footfall noise from the room above something they hadn't thought about. I guess. Soundproofing from outside noise was good though.
The public rooms and hallways have a lovely period feel I think when renovating they should have tried to keep in with the style. Our room had a massive antique wardrobe, lovely but unecessary in such a small space and a put u up bed! So there was very little room to move about. Really only suitable for 2, I dread to think how you would manage with 2 adults and a child there.
I didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening so I can't comment on that.
But I would return as it's great value and when away you spend very little time in your room and my priority is location, cleanliness, cost and breakfast and it's a winer on all of those!
