Our car broke down on the E411 just past this town, and we stayed in this hotel for one night while waiting for it to be repaired. One night was just enough to see the town and its attractions. This hotel is very tired but not unfriendly or unclean. It advertises itself as a three star but is more like a two- the bed was comfortable but the room smelt strongly of disinfectant on arrival. The toilet in our room did not flush and the door did not fit the frame properly, so all the noise in the corridor outside could be heard in this room (they have signs up indicating a noise ban between eleven pm and seven am). Breakfast was pleasant and our salad at lunchtime quite nice. All there really is to do in this town is the grottes and the wildlife tour- if given the option, do the grottes.

We stayed at the hotel last weekend for one night. As the hotel was nearly full we took a suite. The room was very large but also plain in the furnishings. The bathroom also was big and had a 'spa' bath as well as a shower. Although the shower rail holding the rose was broken and clearly had been for some time. We took the half board option and ate in the hotel at night and the meal was very good and the service was OK even though the place was packed.
The staff spoke some English and the proprieter was quite fluent which was great. The hotel is nothing fancy, a little run down but OK for a night or two visiting the local area. We chose to stay there because of the close proximaty to the caves office whci is just across the road. From here you can get tickets to the caves (and zoo) where you take a 100 year old train to the caves entrance. Worth the visit even if just for the tram ride.
