“Bad Management”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2009

I was awaken during the night by one of the hotel employees that was washing dishes next to my room. I asked him why he was making a noice at 3am. He said - "the manager told me".

I loved the hotel - but I will never go back there.
The hotel has a potential to be a great hotel. Rooms are big, chocolates on the bed, great breakfast including all kinds of french and belgium cheeses, hotel is near the train station and you get a discount if you say you are on business with Johnson & Johnson.

The downside - first: no-one tells you that the trains (station is right next to hotel) will make the room rumble. If you stay in a room with an odd number - you are right on the track (and no "special" window can stop the train rattle). If you are in room 101 - you hear the noise guests make going up and down the near stairs. If you are in a room near 120 - you are next to the kitchen (why did they put the kitchen there?) noise begins early in the morning and ends late at night.

You can see the hotel invests a lot of money in the quality of the hotel, but forget the most important thing - guests come there to sleep.

“Nice stay by the Train Station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2008

The hotel is lovely in itself. The staff were nice, rooms were clean, breakfast was good. I was over on a business trip in Beerse, so location was ideal. The only complaint I have was that I had no sleep. My room was on the ground floor and because it is right next to the station, every time a train pulled in (4.30am onwards) it literally shook my bed, was very noisy. I am not the type of person to complain so didn't ask to change rooms, but keep well away from the ground floor next to the trainline. Make sure you get into Market Square and because there are a few nice restaurants and bars around!

“Only good American-style hotel in Turnhout”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2007

Was in Beerse on business and had limited options for good hotels; I'm always skeptical of Best Westerns since they are independently owned. This one however, fulfilled all my needs quite well - free Internet, a few English channels on the TV, breakfast included, relatively spacious accomodations for a European hotel. Everything was clean, and the front desk staff spoke English impeccably and could guide you around town. Careful what side of the hotel you stay in - rooms facing the train tracks get a little noisy in the morning; rooms on the opposite side are quiet.

“New hotel but not finished”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2007

I stayed in this hotel for almost half a year while being on a project nearby. The hotel opened in September as a 4* hotel but once you stay there you would give it 3 stars.
The hotel does not have a proper breakfast room, no room service, tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer in the room. The breakfast consists of basic stuff even though Belgium has so many nice bakeries.
There is a gym about 1.5km away from the hotel which costs 12.5 Euro per visit. The gym is well equipped.
I would recommend this hotel if you plan to stay there for max 2 nights but not for longer, then it is depressing.
