“Awful.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Upon arrival to the Das Reinisch Hotel, one would think it's outwards facade would be worthy of at least a 3 star hotel. However, based on the experience we had, I don't believe it's even worthy of a half star.
We booked one night at the hotel, as we had an early flight out of Vienna and it's does have a close proximity to the airport. Thankfully, it was only one night or we would have cancelled entirely. Upon checking in at the front desk, the reservation specialist was obviously in a hurry to end her shift and get us checked in as soon as possible and pushed us out the door, leaving only a young man, working the desk on his own- it was his first day working for the hotel! She asked us to pay ahead of time, which I thought was quite odd, as a frequent traveler, I've never come across this ever. After giving us our room keys, she informs us we aren't even staying in the hotel! She tells us we are in the apartments down the street. So late at night we had to drag our heavy luggage 400m to find an apt which she scribbled directions to on a piece of paper. We couldnt find the apt on the first try, then had to lug our bags back to hotel to get some help. The new guy was now by himself at desk, and didn't know what to do, he felt bad, and at least printed out a map for us. So after walking another 400m or so, while it's dark and late at night, we finally get to the apt, not a hotel room. On our hotel itinerary it clearly states, mini-bar, and internet in rooms. We had neither, not even a bottle of water!! We couldn't even purchase any from hotel, as we called and asked! We were told we would have to come back to hotel. Needless to say, we were not happy! Things got worse when we went to shower and the bath towels smelled like an ashtray and cigarette smoke encapsulated the entire bathroom. This is atrocious and had it not been so late, we would have checked out immediately. We will be waiting for a refund on this awful hotel stay.

“Good hotel with excellent connections to the airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

We visited this hotel a number of times in the past 6 years when using Vienna as a transit point to other destinations in Europe. It is only 4 km from the airport. There is no air conditioning in the hotel but the rooms are very clean and quite adequate. In July we stayed in the hotel several times for one & two nights. The hotel has a good restaurant with a friendly staff , and excellent buffet breakfast . Das Reinisch offers a free shuttle service to/from the airport; you can book the shuttle at the reception. There are free beverages in the fridge; 2 bottles of sparkling water, 1 bottle of coca cola & 1 bottle of Heineken. You can use a coffee machine in the foyer (excellent capuccino, espresso ...). Even though there is nothing to see or do in the village, the hotel's location is perfect for international travellers.

“Why Put a Hotel Here?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2010

Leg 2 of Grand Tour - Nuremburg to Vienna.
I chose the hotel because it is close to the Budapest Autobahn and because the hotel has an annex with self-contained studio flats. Travelling with a teenager means extra space is welcome.
Booking directly with the hotel was a relatively painless experience even with my basic German.
Arriving mid-late afternoon, the approach to the hotel is dominated by a petrochemical works apparently owned by the Austrian state Oil company. On the basis this was only an over-night stop I hadn't checked into the locale.
Studio flats are located a short walk away from the main hotel - clean, functional and spacious with cooking facilities.
We ate in the hotel - food was perfectly acceptable but with no air-conditioning the 95 degree heat made dining a less than comfortable experience.

In summary aside from the lack of air-conditioning there is nothing really adverse to say about the hotel itself but I just can't get over the approach from Junction 14 of the S1 via Danubiastraße - I appreciate the proximity of the Airport but not somewhere I would contemplate staying again I am afraid.
