Just stayed 2 nights in Hotel Sonne in Kirchberg. Arrived mid afternoon and it was quiet at the time and able to negoitate a good deal as it was not busy. Great Room - large with mezzanine floor for the children to sleep in with their own TV. Also a sofa and balcony so plenty of room. Good facilities with swimming pool, fitness and sauna. Short stroll to town and close to swimming lake. Tour company buses arrived later full of old people but not a problem to us. Booked with half board and got fantastic 4 course meal for next to nothing. Overall a good stay.

This hotel does have a pool and sauna but both would have to be upgraded to feel like a "spa" hotel. Kids abound in the pool and the sauna is co-ed naked so be prepared for immodesty.
The rooms vary in size. Make sure to get a double that has been refurbished. They all seem to have nice views of the mountains but bathrooms have showers that are pocket size in the older, smaller rooms.
The hotel is a 10 minute drive to Kitzbuhel, but Kirchberg is a quaint little town with its own ski lift and sledding run, with a recommended hut on top of the mountain for lunch or dinner.
Hotel staff are plentiful, but hospitality is varied. Bartenders are wonderful but management could use a bit of basic customer service training.
Overall, good value, would be better with an upgrade, and great for families.
