5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

We travel from Colorado,USA, we was stay four days , was just wonderful. Very nice room with little kitchen, style furniture and big terrace. Nobody bother us and owner was very nice guy. When we arrived ,he left key in reception, we just took it and go to our room , we just love it,we feel totally free. It,s great place for couples. We have very nice time in this hotel and definitely come back.

“Brilliant food, ski bus outside, return to within 350m on skis and a comfy room to relax in.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2010

The room was large and clean. Equipped with shower; wc; Tv; small kitchenette with fridge and 2 hotplates. The Austrian twin bed was comfortable with crisp clean linen. We stayed half baord using the attatched steakhouse to eat in and had fantastic food in the evening and again for breakfast. The choice in the morning was outstanding with a huge range of foodstuffs to eat from cereals, muesli and yoghurt, to bacon scarmbled eggs, smoked salmon, meats etc. They even have a juicer for fresh carrot juice as well. Oh and lovely breads as well. Probably the best breakfast we have had in Austria and that is a real compliment.
The place is Dutch owned and the staff looked after us very well.
As a base for skiing the ski bus stops outside the carpark, so no need to carry skis. On the return we found we could ski to within 350m of the door. If the snow level were higher then a ski bus would be needed from the lift station.
We did think we had found a drawback when we realised that from 16:00 hours the bar opens for apres ski with loud music. However this did not last long and all was quiet by 18:00 as the restaurant got into full swing.

Very professional staff of the hotel reception desk, good appartement with functional and sufficient equipment, but older equipment of the bathroom. Free parking with sufficient capacity near the hotel. Very short distance to the skibus stops, very easy to reach the sloaps. The hotel prefers cash payment, they charge additional 1,5% in the case of payment by a credit card.

“Great location; Confortable, staff really polite and helpful; breakfast not so good”

We spent 4 days with some friends with children. We got an upgrade to a bigger room due to low season occupancy and the room was really big and pleasant; great views to the mountains. We did not cook so the kichen was not used. The rooms were clean and well serviced. We had breakfast (not mandatory) at the Hotel opposite the Almhof which was really low standard, limited and badly served (once the items run out, you were done) however this seems to be a low season arrangement between the Almhof and the neighbouring Hotel, as they were just opening. The Asados's restaurant was not open, neither was the bar.
Mr Sore, the manager, was of great help and sent us for dinner to really good resturants in the area. All in all, highly recommened

“Extra for this...extra for that.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2009

Sadly this was supposed to be a highlight of our trip but wasn't!

Basic, somewhat "tired" little hotel. Lovely setting, but cost was 130 Euros for one night after all of the "extra" charges were added - like for the children, in a studio appartment supposed to sleep 2- 4, and the cost of breakfast. The two kids were on a sofa bed. Breakfast is described by the hotel as "obligatory" and was just about... OK. Nothing special for 130Euros a night though. You need to read the small print very carefully when booking this place.

No soap/showergel in bathroom. No complimentary coffee/teas. Bit of a tired "Fawlty Towers" feel to the place I think. Tiles in Bathroom were obviously at their best in 1970, but now are painted over with white tile paint!

We're so used these days to TV programmes talking about properties needing to have a high level of finish but not here!

Is there a pool here? If so I missed that.....but then again there were no details in the room of what facilities the hotel had to offer etc.

Very disappointing overall. Not a hotel - a pretty tired bed and breakfast / guest house.
