There's not much we didn't like about Almhof. The location was perfect - a nice walk to charming downtown Kirchberg and a very short walk to the ski bus stop, which is only one stop from the gondola station. The apartment was one of the most comfortably furnished we've seen in an Austrian ski town, with a plush sofa and arm chair. The staff was helpful, and the restaurant downstairs was so delicious and friendly we decided to eat there both nights of our stay. A few extra notes, though - during the high season the 12 Euro breakfast buffet is obligatory. (The spread of food is diverse, plentiful, and high quality, but an obligatory breakfast not included in the price seems a bit disingenuous, especially if you're booking in an apartment with a kitchenette). Also, the reception desk doesn't open until after 10:00 am, which means you have to do your check-out the night before.
