We had planned to stay 3 nights, but left after two days. Would have left after one night if I could have found another hotel, due to the football game between Russia and Greece.
The hotel was situated in a pretty setting, but it has seen better days. The dining room was old and dark, and the second floor where we were on had another carpet laid over the worn carpet. The room while fairly clean was sparse, and the towels were all different colors and design. The room was quiet, but the curtains were not thick enough to keep the morning sun out. There was no soap in the shower, and there was a dispenser outside the shower between the shower and the wash basin. One had to get your soap and then turn the shower on. When I told management that were leaving on the second day, she wanted to charge me for the third night as I had not given three days notice. We finally settled on the booking fee of 12% and I was just glad to be out having cut our trip short by one day. I was told that this was a three star resort, and that is why it was so poorly kept. It should thus be a 1-2 stars at the most.
Breakfast was very sparse.

The criticism of the above contains unjust and untrue statements. The Auwirt is a 3 star hotel, which was officially rated as such by the Austrian Chamber of Trade and therefore not over or under rated.
Mr.Eddierosebud normally lives in luxury hotels all over the world (see further entries on tripadvisor). Due to the football championship these hotels were fully booked. Naturally he was frustrated not having got what he wanted. In consequence he booked a double- and a single-bedroom at the three star hotel Auwirt for three nights, as seen on a photo at the time of booking. From the beginning he was dissatisfied, comparing the facilities of the Auwirt with five star hotels. He never registered the fact that he was paying much less than in a five star hotel.
His sister-in-law complained about the size of her single room and was given a double-room for the same price.
The bathroom in the double-room was completely renewed last winter. The bedroom has high-quality non-inflammable curtains with motives by Monet. Window balks outside can be closed to keep out the morning sunlight if wished.
The hotel offers a typically Austrian breakfast buffet with a large selection of food; roast beef and turkey is normally not on the menu, but the special juice his wife ordered was made possible.
The guests left after 2 nights. Only a booking fee of 12% was charged for the 3rd night, although by law, the full price could have been charged.
