We spent 4 nights at this nice guesthouse on the outskirts of Salzburg and had a great stay. We booked one of the apartments as we were traveling as a family. The apartment was quiet, had a nice kitchen that was well stocked and offered ample space for an American family of four. We found the staff helpful and welcoming. We found the location ideal for exploring the area around Salzburg. The Salt mines are only 15 minutes drive in one direction and downtown Salzburg was 15 minutes the other (or take the available bus). It was a great spot for easily getting to the Mondsee, Berchtesgaden and the "eagle's nest" and a much better value than staying in a hotel in Salzburg.

we had 3 wonderful days in this hotel, the owner and staff were very friendly and helpful, they explained us how to reach noted places and historic spots. The room was big and clean, and the food in the lovely restaurant was very good. The hotel was well decorated and had a very good atmosphere.

We were able to go to Salzburg to spend some time to visit the sights by bus,so we could return to our hotel without worrying about parking in the city.

We will come again to this nice hotel!!!

We've been at the Auwirt for just one night and can not recommend it to anybody. The price for a double room was EUR 88 and this was definitely too high. We either don't know how this hotel can be classified with 3 stars. The bathroom was dirty, the toilet had problems - in general for Austrian standard (which is indeed very good!) it was really poor. We've been happy to leave the next day... It would be okay with different prices, e.g. EUR 25 and with only 1 star classification. Regards.

We had planned to stay 3 nights, but left after two days. Would have left after one night if I could have found another hotel, due to the football game between Russia and Greece.
The hotel was situated in a pretty setting, but it has seen better days. The dining room was old and dark, and the second floor where we were on had another carpet laid over the worn carpet. The room while fairly clean was sparse, and the towels were all different colors and design. The room was quiet, but the curtains were not thick enough to keep the morning sun out. There was no soap in the shower, and there was a dispenser outside the shower between the shower and the wash basin. One had to get your soap and then turn the shower on. When I told management that were leaving on the second day, she wanted to charge me for the third night as I had not given three days notice. We finally settled on the booking fee of 12% and I was just glad to be out having cut our trip short by one day. I was told that this was a three star resort, and that is why it was so poorly kept. It should thus be a 1-2 stars at the most.
Breakfast was very sparse.
