Stayed at Pension Gstrein for 9 nights which cost a total of £413 (E504) The room had a big Austrian superking size bed, en-suite with shower, tv and balcony a with lovely view of the surrounding mountains.
Frau Gstrein was incredibly helpful during our stay.
The pension is the equivalent of a British B&B and the price quoted above also included breakfast.
It is very easy to get to Bad Hofgastein from Salzburg airport. Get the bus from outside the airport terminal to the main station which is also directly in front of the train station. Trains run every 2 hours to Bad Hofgastein and cost about £24 return. A bus goes from outside Bad Hofgastein train station (Rainer Reisen Bus) which will drop you next to your pension/hotel if you tell the driver where you're staying.
