rather a family hotel than a romantic hotel. great rooms, friendly staff. F&B good but no a la carte (half buffet half menu service) great winelist! value for money very good. Their spa is outstanding. The facilities too. Visit the Millenium Express up the Mountain. We liked the service and the helpfulness when we moved to another room because we'd deceided to stay a bit longer...

We spent a small holiday in this Hotel, with many anticipations from these rewiews. We confirm that the Hotel is a very good place: businesslike and accomodating receptionist, the staff take care of you in the finest details, the restaurant, the bar, and the common areas are delicius and quite quiet. The restaurant offers an amazing menù every night and a various buffet in addiction made of vegetables, many kind of bread and cheese, dried fruit, salads. The buffet of the breakfeast offers fresh and dried fruits (seasonal and out of season: i think we don't need to eat strawberries and watermelon in genuary on the alps) theas, coffees, fruits juices and vegetable jiuces, cow milk, crèpes, croissant, marmelades, butter, honeys, cioccolate cream, omelettes, ham, sausages, cheeeses, cereals, yogurths, biscuits, almost 6 type of bread, creackers. The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff changed every day the towel in the bathroom, and we didn't need this considering the use of these. In the room we found the soaps, the nail blade, the cotton fiocs and the cotton to remove the make up, 2 shower caps, 2 pair of slippers, 2 bathrobe, 1 shoehorn, 1 brush to clean the shoes, 1 big bag to keep your staff with you when you go to the SPA.We had a little problem with the pillows, empty pillows, but if u like to sleep on a solid pillow u can ask for some pillows more to the receptionists, 2 or 3 of them are like one normal.
The SPA: well kept, the staff is quiet polite, bookin the appointments for the treatments is easy and fast, but the masseurs are very bad and unable to make any relaxing massage. Personally i'm not an hard punter but I cannot avoid to say that i recived 3 very stressfull and not significant massages; Cold Hands, any care of the gesture, cold room, are only the beginnig of the problem in the SPA. The Products that they sell in the SPA and they use on your body are not of good quality, St. Barth's products are plenty of paraffinum liquidum and silicone polymers and they use theese products mixing with Baborganic creams that are very good racy!! I've booked a Baborganic massage and i recived a mixed mush of st barth avocado oil an baborganic cream!!!!!!!!!! Baborganic products payng due attention beacouse are the only products in the spa made of natural ingredients. The Swimming pools and the saunas are ok, but the garden all over it is frumpy and this is not good for an hotel of this calibre. Another critic: when we came on holiday at the Carinzia Hotel there was a snow storm, the snow and the ice where keept in the next days autside the entrance of the hotel and anyone strewed any salt!!! Closing: Very good place to relax and restin, eating fantastically; The Spa is under the low standard, so if u are a real lover of Spa treatments don't reserve any appointment to get less stressed.

I was there last week and it was really an excellent choice. Great location for summer holidays, right below the cable railway to the top of the mountain. Swimming pool very nice, but most of all the rooms are really some of the best rooms I've ever seen! Well above the 4* classification! The area for the kids is just marvellous, really well above any other I've seen, and there were 3 girls all the time there who would organize the kids activities in order to make them play. My 4 years old girl loved it! The only problem with this hotel is that it's fairly big, and when it's full (as it was last week) the common areas are a bit crowded, so the swimming pool was full, and the restaurant was a bit disorganized. Basically the restaurant service is the main fault of the hotel (and the reason why I do not give them 5*), the buffet would lack most of the stuff if you would go there a bit later, and table service was slow and a bit sloppy. Apart from that (not a big deal, really) the food was excellent and everything else was marvellous. Let's not forget they had a beautiful spa area, a nice gym, and free parking (not a given these days!).

Just returned late last night from three days at the Falkensteiner Carinthia.
I´ve travelled with my wife and my nine year old son.
The property is easy to reach by car, around 20 minutes from the motorway exit on the Villach-Udine road.
The first impression was real positive, enough space to park the car around, quiet location between the village and the ski station,
the Millenium express, not open during our stay.
A friendly welcome from the girl at check in, no time to wait there and for the room.
The hotel and the room modern, stylish and spacious.
A large bathroom with bathtub, separate shower and toilet,
a large bedroom with balcony on the top floor.
There was a indoor/outdoor pool separated with an automatic door, the hotel was fully booked, so not that easy to catch the "perfect" chairs around the pool, but finally we managed it.
Beneath that a gym and a sauna area.
We´ve booked halfboard, breakfast buffet style, dinner partly buffet, partly served at the table, the quality and choice was superb.
The staff at the restaurant was real friendly, no problem to cover my son´s needs, when he was not delighted the second day with
the desert!.
The only negative point was the service in the bar area,
slower and not that friendly than in the restaurant.
Overall, a recommendable place to go.
