“An ideal place to escape the hectic city life and enjoy the beauties of the mountain.”

The hotel is one of the few that really tries to meet all the needs of the guests. The food is more than excellent and there were various kinds of events in the evenings. The staff is friendly and always helpful. In addition to skiing, one can also spend the day walking in the mountain along the tracks both near the village or in the mountain. The views from the mountain slopes are splendid. The hotel spa is ideal for a rest after the mountain walks or after skiing.
The only thing that was not to my full pleasure was he fact that I had to ask for a new password every hour. I was not very convenient especially for teenagers who sometimes spend couple of hours chatting on the FB. However, the Internet service is free and that was another positive aspect of the hotel.

“Alleluijah”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2010

Excellent hotel, well run , Alpine atmosphere of a certain class. Excellent front-desk staff and plenty of staff in all sections. The room they gave us was superb , very spacious but with non-descript view.
Food excellent. Tidy hotel in all parts. Free parking.
Minor inconvenience. We have been mildly puzzled by the welcome at the breakfast room in the morning by one attendant , who blasted with an "allelujah" as he saw us coming to the restaurant thinking we couldn't guess what he was saying. Also other attendants looked disgruntled. Breakfast is officially closing at 12:00, we were there at 11:00 on the dot. Where is the problem then ? Or am I looking like Jesus Christ (allelujah) ?
Moreover , and more ennoyingly, an Austrian or German guest played piano during our whole breakfast at very close distance, with a pretty nasty music on top of it ....
I may be wrong since I was there only for two days, but i must say that Bad Kleinkirchheim didn't impress me that much. It is just a spray of houses on a long road.

“a great hotel but not a lively ski town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2010

We are a middle age couple who stayed at the Die Post for a skiing holiday. The hotel is very good indeed. The other guests were mainly German, Austrian and Italians and either couples or families with young children (probably as it was term time, there were hardly any school age children). Contrary to what was said by one previous contributor, we found the children to be no problem.
We had a mid priced room which had plenty of space (we didn’t see any other rooms but, from experience, we find the cheapest rooms in hotels can be cramped with all the skiing gear). The bar /lounge area was very pleasant and relaxed. The evening meals and breakfast were as good as any in a 4* Austrian hotel. The great bonus was the free lunch buffet from about 1.30 and free strudel from about 3.00. We found the skiing area somewhat limited so we would tend to return to the hotel in the early afternoon, have some lunch/strudel and then wander down to the spa area. Access to the wet areas is in the price – only the treatments are chargeable. The wet areas (saunas, jet pool, steam etc) are good; (I wouldn’t say the best – e.g. not as good as the Strass in Mayrhofen). As is usual in Austria, costumes are not allowed in the wet areas which everyone finds perfectly natural (I now find it absurd to sit in a sauna in my gym at home wearing a wet costume!!).
The town itself is rather limited. There are very few shops. The huge modern public spa is worth a visit if you are at a loose end. The ski area itself is not that large. We stayed in the middle of March during one of the ski and sun weeks when you get a free ski pass. The downside was that weather was getting warmer; any later, the skiing would have been disappointing.

“Every time we enter, the hotel enfolds us with a deep sense of pleasure and wellbeing.”

We have probably stayed at dear Hotel Die Post around a dozen times at various times of year (Christmas, June, August and September). It has NEVER disappointed. which is why it is our most visited hotel. We have often described it to friends as having a sense of "going home" and "your wish is their command", nothing is a problem. Entering this hotel feels like visiting friends and I always feel enfolded in genuine interest in my pleasure and wellbeing, from the owners, the Ronacher family, through all levels of staff. The rooms are comfortable , spotless and very quiet. The spa and pool facilities excellent, yes the sauna area is nudist which for someone from England does take a bit of getting used to but you can use much of it and still stay relatively discrete. In my experience nudism in saunas is the norm in Austria and if you can't beat them, join them, after all what is the chances that you will meet someone again back home! The food is very good and beautifully presented, not really a surprise when a relative owning an establishment in another part of Austria is a Michelin 2 star chef in their own right. I'm sure something must rub off! The wine list is good, including a wide selection of Austrian wines, and not just the well known varieties, but less common as well. New this season was Carinthian wine and very good it was too! I have been fortunate to have been there for wine tastings and enjoyed being able to try something new. My heart lifts when I think of the hotel and the surrounding area. I wlll confess I sometimes visit the website just to cheer myself up inbetween visits. Roll on the next time!

“A luxurious hotel with a team of staff for whom nothing is too much trouble”

We visted the Hotel Die Post for the fourth time and every time that we have visited it has been better. The hotel is very clean and were were vey impressed with how the bathrooms had been refurbished since our last visit. The food is absolutely delicious with a wide range of choice. I especiaily enjoyed having an individually made omlette for breakfast. The evening meals are always really special with the staff dressed in traditional costume. There was always a wide range of choices in the evening. One of the highlights of this holiday for me is strudel time in the afternoon. There is delicious apple strudel available and also a wide range of other cakes. The leisue facilities are fantastic. We enjoyed swimming and playing tennis each day . The hotel is in the middle of the mountains and the views are wonderful. I would recommend this holiday for anyone who enjoys luxury and value being looked after by a team of staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
