“Superb food and accommodation, knowledgeable hosts.”

Mihingo Lodge is a fantastic place to stay. The setting is spectacular, with views over Lake Kachira on one side and savannah valley on the other. The restaurant and bar overlook a water hole and salt lick where we saw zebra, water-buck, warthog, eland, impala and topi. The food is superb, and the bar well-stocked. Packed lunches can be provided and the bar will pack a few beers or soft drinks into a cool-box for you if you want to head down to the lodge's hide for a close-up view of the water hole (strongly recommended). We had regular visits from the local vervet monkeys on our balcony, but they won't disturb you if you are sat there enjoying the views - as soon as they saw us they ran a mile. Chris and Heather (managers) have extensive experience of living in Uganda and are full of useful advice about how to make the most of your stay. They will also organise day and night game drives, horse-riding and guided walks with the UWA staff for those who are interested. We thoroughly recommend this place. NB - if you are living in Uganda then you will qualify for resident's discount.

Room Tip: Ask for the Leopard Room for a spectacular sunrise view over the lake.

“Amazing lodge”

I took my parents here when they visited Uganda in April 2011, and they still rave about the lodge and our stay. My mom described it as "heaven". We stayed in the Lake Kacheera cabin (worth requesting for the view) and loved the scenery. The walking safari was a good addition, saw interesting animals up close, but the highlight was the accommodation, pool and views. Would recommend spending time down at the animal blind, saw some good animal interaction there, and doing the bush baby feedings. It is worth making a trip to Lake Mburo just for the lodge.

“Flying Visit - first class all the way”

Having experianced the pleasures of delayed luggage with Kenya Airways we didn't arrive here until later than planned, but from the moment we arrived the stress from that experiance just melted away from the first greeting to the all too quick farewell.
From trying to get the well-fed Bush babies to re-appear, to the wonderful food and drinks any of this would be enough for most Hotels, but combined with the "hobbit" like accomodation that opened up onto the gorgeous and welcoming views of the plains over the infinity pool the whole environment was a joy to experiance, what a great (albeit short) way to start a trip to Uganda.

I have recently returned from Uganda. I was lucky enough to get to spend one night at the Mihingo lodge. What an amazing place. The staff took excellent care of us while we were there. The view, amazing. The horseback safari was great fun. I wish I would have had more time to experience all that this lodge offered. I would fly back to Africa just to spend more time here.

I have recently returned from Uganda. I was lucky enough to get to spend one night at the Buhoma lodge. What an amazing place. The staff took excellent care of us while we were there. The view, amazing. The horseback safari was great fun. I wish I would have had more time to experience more of what this lodge offered. I would fly back to Africa just to spend more time here.
