We recently spent 4 nights at Tussock Peak. We found the owner to be very welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and appealing. It was close to the pools and restaurants. We went for a much needed break and fellt very relaxed after 4 nights. Many thanks.

Had two nights staying at the Tussock Peak Motor Lodge with the family and were delighted with the quality of accommodation and the warm friendly welcome. Plenty of room for a family of four in the luxurious two bedroom units, all the facilities you would ever need and a short walk to everything Hanmer Village has to offer. Our stay here was perfect and I would definitely recommend this motel, and would stay here again!

What an absolutley Wonderful Motel that this is.

I brought my friend who has never seen the South Island before and chose Hanmer for the night, Being school holidays in NZ, we were a little concerned that most places were going to have No Vacancy, after a trip up the main street with no planning, we chose to drive into Tussock Peak's carpark, and what an absolute find!

The Manageress was the most hospitable in every way, A wonderful welcoming and only too happy to help us, She managed to obtain us a room and was only to obliging. The way hospitality should be.

Our room was very spacious and decadent, Warm inviting colours and modern decour. The Kitchenette contained cutlery, crockery, and all the appliances we needed, the Bathroom came equipped with a Spa and all the amenties you expected, The most comfortable bed that I have slept on in ages, beautiful art prints and potpourri on the coffee table to give a "homely" sense of placement, I have managed motels before during my University days, so I know all the little tricks of the trade and the ins and outs, and everything was spotless, clean and very homely. We felt very comfortable staying here. and the cleaning was at a ultimate standard.

We were given complementary towels for the hot pools which we thought was a thoughtful gesture, and an umbrella outside our door when we returned which was really kind considering it was quite drizzly,

Housekeepers were extremely chirpy, and always had a smile in their work, Just before we left, one even came up to us and asked if we had enjoyed our stay and if we needed anything.

The manageress checked us out and wished us well for our journey and had a great convo with her before we left.

Location Wise, the motel is only a short 3-5 minute stroll from the main centre, and just a hop across the road to the Hotpools, so accessibility is no problem at all.

I can't stress how wonderful our stay was, and we will be telling friends and anyone else who is thinking of going to Hanmer to stay at Tussock Peak Motor Lodge, because they won't be dissapointed!

If you ever need a relief manager for the weekends and need someone who has experience of minding 4***+ Motels, you know where I am!
