After our first night in Christchurch (we are very upset and sad about the earthquake), we stayed at the Tussock Peak Motor Lodge because of the good reviews on TA. We loved this place, especially the service we were given. The room was spacious and clean with a king bed. When we couldn't get the TV to turn on late that night, we asked someone in reception to help. She immediately came to the room to figure out the problem. That is exceptional service you would rarely get in the US. The location was perfect for us since we were there for the thermal pools just a couple of blocks away.

We stayed at Tussock Peak Motor Lodge while attending a wedding in Hanmer Springs. We asked for an early lunch time check in and were told this was no problem. Booking the room via email had also been no hassle at all. When we were arrived the owner Nicky was very friendly and showed us our rooms. She helped us get sorted with irons, and sewing needle and thread for last minute alterations to outfits. But where they really stood out was in helping one of our friends who had an agonising toothache. They went above and beyond to help her feel comfortable and help us get her pain killers from a town with very few facilities. The next day we went for brunch and half of our group realised they hadn't checked out as they had all thought the other was doing it. When we got back, around an hour after we were meant to check out, Nicky was not worried at all. She even offered to iron my partner's shirt when he was looking for the iron!

Incredibly helpful and lovely people. Very nice, tidy and clean accommodation. Would definitely stay again and fully recommend them.

We stayed for one night (should have planned more) early December.
We only booked the day before our stay, were given a great rate for our family of 5 and told if we arrived late morning our room would be ready to go and it was. Very charming hosts who also own one of the pubs in town. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. Our 2 bedroom unit had 3 TV's, so kids were in heaven. The motel is a short walk from the hot springs and spa towels were provided when we checked in. We were leaving NZ the next day, the manager kindly allowed us to use her computer to check in for our flight home. We were sorry to have only have one night here, we could happily have stayed MUCH longer!
We will definitely stay again next time we are in NZ.

Staying here was a complete surpize , we were ment to be going to bali , but because of my health we had to council, I have been to hanmer many times and stayed in may hotels,but this one is the best .

We booked thru the net for a pamper package for our honey moon on the monday morning and by lunch time tuesday we were there.

The staff a very nice and up graded or room to one with a spa ...yays

the rooms are super clean and have all you need , the beds are comfy to with lots of pillows to use.

our room was up stairs and we were right next to the church,which is very cute and it also snowed ,it looked so cool.

We were in town on night ,which is a five min walk on the main road , and the whole towns power went out .and there they were candles ready for us .

We just want to say thanks for making our honey moon awesome ,we wernt were we expited to be ,but we still loved it xoxo
