Cypress ridge cottages are very comfortable, the owner Bindi & Aaron offer a personable feel & are more than welcoming! If your after a quiet retreat thats value for money it's well worth the visit. Be sure to stock up on all your meals as a taxi ride to town can cost up to $90! Also highly recommended is Filippo's Tours! Overall a very enjoyable experience!

“So cute, so private, so cosy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Stayed for 4 nights mid-week. Really neat, tidy and comfy. Saw kangaroos grazing out the back of the cottage on 2 occasions. Lots of little details that were great...mini marshmallows for your hot chocolate, gloves to bring in firewood, freshly raked outside area, detailed local guide in room for the cottages. Really enjoyed the privacy of this cottage tucked away in the trees.

“Swishest place you'll ever be allowed to take your dog”

We went during the four day Christmas break of 2010 with our two year old daughter and aging mutt. We arrived VERY late and the owner patiently waited up for us to arrive. We found them very considerate of privacy, but we knew how to find them if we needed to. We were upgraded to a larger cottage free of charge when a booking clashed with another. We found the owners to be approachable and generous of spirit and nature.

The furnishings were absolutely beautiful, the bed comfortable, we brought our own pillows out of habit. The cottage was clean, tasteful, and not cluttered. There was a fruiting apricot tree outside our cottage, which went wonderfully barbequed with the local port.

With vineyards (check out Tobin Wines!!!!!!) in every direction (including directly over the road), a lovely restaurant down the road and Girraween only a sneeze away we couldn't have asked for a better location. We also suggest stopping at Suttons Juice factory on the way into town for the best apple pie you'll ever taste.

The only minor quibble is that the breakfasts were not delivered daily, but all four days worth were in our fridge when we arrived, which meant that fridge space was lacking for our things and the croissants were a bit stale by the end. BUT this is the only fault I can think of, and I'm trying to think of one, so that this is a balanced review.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The prices were excellent. I shopped around online before booking and easily this was best value, and I'm suprised that owners don't include more photos of the cottages interiors on their website, as they are so nicely appointed.

“A lovely little self-contained cottage with wood fire.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

We stayed in a lovely little self contained studio cottage (Cassia) for a reasonable price ($265 for 2 nights - Sun/Mon - in July).

Highlights: The cottage was very nicely finished and the wood fire was great. The bathroom was nice and the kitchenette was convenient.

Some minor quibbles: Hot water ran out during the second shower on the first night; Water pump was a bit noisy and resulted in slightly varying water pressure and temperature; pillows were a bit hard; it was quite a long drive to Stanthorpe (20 mins), where we ended up going for every major meal.

“Great cottage, lovely weekend away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2008

Our family of 4 (two boys 9 and 11yrs) had a 3 day/2 night country escape from the Gold Coast to Stanthorpe - a chance to experience a 'real winter'. And we got just that, with overnight temps of -2deg - but with the very effective wood fire in our lovely self contained cottage, we were cosy and warm. The cottage we had was private, fairly new, well maintained and had everything you could need - including DVD player, electric blanket and hairdryer. We even got to see wild kangaroos on the property from our little verandah! Great national park nearby with some amazing granite boulder formations at Girraween National Park.
