Travelling with daughter - meeting up with other daughter who was backpacking in the area. Pleasant enough on arrival but obviously were not expecting us even though we had booked a few months in advance. Shown to a small backroom with two beds - very small. Curtain stapled to the wall to stop it from falling off but didn't work as kept falling off the wall - leaving us very vulnerable as we were on the ground floor with no curtains.
Owner very friendly and we got breakfast included which was a bonus but overall the place reminded me of the Adams family - creepy. Felt damp and musty. Outside space scruffy with overflowing ashtrays and bottles of beer in the garden. Very overpriced for what it was. Wouldn't stay again.

I booked this hotel and was not sure what I would get and on arrival was pleasently supprised for the rate I was paying and would recomend this quiet old world hotel to others

From regional Victoria, I had medical appointments to attend in the area and Toorak Manor offered everything I was looking for. Parking onsite, with a short walk to railway station and only a few stops from the city, breakfast included. I lucked in on a quiet couple of days and was upgraded. Service was friendly and the manager offered help with cutlery when the delivered dinner arrived with none, and allowed me to put some icebricks on the kitchen freezer. As a female travelling alone, I felt very safe here and would book again without hesitation.

The new manager of the Comfort Inn in Toorak - Mandy - makes this place, which would otherwise just be good value for money, a really great place to say. Breakfast is included in the rates and is truly plentiful - after the first day Mandy will remember how you like your coffee! It is close to transport (train and two tram lines) and shops. The rooms may be decorated in an olde world style that may not be the taste of some, and they are a bit dark but they are a generous size and the high ceilings make up for a lot! And in any case, you can make yourself comfortable in the very large living room packed with reading material and Foxtel. The only real downside is that you can hear trains go by, but they certainly don't wake you up. I would highly recommend this place for people who don't want to spend large sums on accommodation, who like a bit of personality with their accommodation, who want to feel welcome to Melbourne and who don't need to be in the CBD.
