I've now stayed at this hotel twice after receiving paid accommodation from one of my clients whilst I was down visiting. I've spent approximately 10 nights accommodation here and it has been pleasurable.

Firstly the service I have received from Dennis has been great, breakfast is ready nice and early and you can hear some relaxing irish music or just peaceful music. Being a hotel there isn't much in the way of facilities but this was not required for my purposes.

After finishing 10-12 hour working days I could easily come back to the hotel (any time) and just kick back and relax watching tv or having a cuppa. The hotel is close to the train station but surprisingly not that loud and being soo tired I have never really noticed the noise (windows opened or closed)

If you want to have extremely friendly staff in a boutique bed and breakfast style hotel I can recommend this.

Visited Melbourne for some Christmas shopping and social events, we were provided with a friendly service at Toorak Manor with a 'home-away-from-home' feel. Breakfast hours were even extended an extra half an hour for us when we had slept in!

Stayed 2 nights. Bedroom has flouncy curtains that must catch a lot of dust, looked a bit shabby. Carpet and bedding clean. Bathroom was the let-down, missing tiles on floor and shower that needs an overhaul, mouldy silicone. Also the bathroom light is on same switch as exhaust fan and there is no other light in bathroom, meaning it's hard not to disturb your partner if you need to be up in the night. We chose this place based on reviews and also based on FREE parking. Although we would not return, I don't see that as a reason not to recommend for others. Breakfast is included and was a selection of cook your own toast, english muffin, crumpet, fruit toast, cereals, yoghurt (flavoured sweetened yoghurt) and fruit (some tinned fruit, some fresh) with instant tea and coffee and juice. The breakfast room is lovely and clean with antique furniture and a sunny outlook.

Travelling with daughter - meeting up with other daughter who was backpacking in the area. Pleasant enough on arrival but obviously were not expecting us even though we had booked a few months in advance. Shown to a small backroom with two beds - very small. Curtain stapled to the wall to stop it from falling off but didn't work as kept falling off the wall - leaving us very vulnerable as we were on the ground floor with no curtains.
Owner very friendly and we got breakfast included which was a bonus but overall the place reminded me of the Adams family - creepy. Felt damp and musty. Outside space scruffy with overflowing ashtrays and bottles of beer in the garden. Very overpriced for what it was. Wouldn't stay again.
