I stayed here back in may 2010 with my fiance who I proposed too while there.This place is so private and secluded its one of my favorite places.You'll have to be guided there its that deep in the forest.You definitely have to love nature and sounds of the jungle as this place gets loud in a good way with nightlife.

My husband and I have stayed at Sue’s Place four times and I am chagrined to admit that I am only now taking the time to write about it. If you don’t require the sterile environment of a standard Holiday Inn room but are a little more adventurous, you will undoubtedly find Sue’s Place delightful. Nestled in the rainforest, surrounded by lush tropical trees and flowers, it is located minutes away from El Yunque Caribbean National Rainforest, as well as the town of Luquillo with its beautiful beach and a wide array of kiosks where you can choose to explore typical Puerto Rican fare one night and Spanish tapas or Peruvian food another.

Sue and Bob are warm, generous, and charming hosts who did everything in their power to ensure that we got the most out of our stay on the island. We stayed at the loft: a quaint and very comfortable studio apartment with a porch where warm Caribbean breezes caressed our skin and the coquis serenaded us, as we swung carefree on a hammock.

The last time we were there we noticed that they had replaced the bed, the refrigerator and the stove, and were impressed with their conscientious efforts to maintain the property.

We highly recommend Sue’s Place for a uniquely charming and romantic experience.

Sue was so nice on the phone and very helpful. She and Bob met us in town and showed us the way to the Loft which was a little small and definitely an almost outdoor experience with the beautiful porch and rustic cabin kitchen. The coqui sang us loudly to sleep and we felt surrounded by the beautiful rain forest and even got an indoor scare with a large cockroach. But it was much more authentic than staying at a chain hotel and feeling detatched from the beauty around us.

We traveled from Minnesota and made our arrangements with Sue via cell phone after finding her rentals online. She was the most friendly hostess from the beginning. We did not arrive in Luquillo until late in the evening, and Sue and Bob were nice enough to wait for us at a local gas station to navigate the unfamiliar mountain in the dark. We'd been on the road all day and Sue was with us as we grabbed a few groceries before heading to the Loft. This kind of friendlyness was comforting in a strange place. The map Sue and Bob provided us with was extraordinarily helpful, though guiding us that first night was priceless! The Loft is beautiful. We spent time on the hammock listening to the relaxing sounds of the coqui at night and watching the stars. The Loft was perfect for us, this was our first trip ever without our children. We were able to relax completely in the tranquil paradise location Sue's Rental provided. She went out of her way to be a gracious hostess. The Loft was clean and smelled good. Sue placed fresh cut flowers in various vases in the kitchen and on the deck- this touch in itself was magical. It was so peaceful and wonderful. We spent our days at the beautiful Luquillo beaches and ate at the kioskos almost every day {the food was awesome!} We explored El Yunque for the day and came home to the Loft each night to a beautiful, restful place to stay. The kitchen is perfect for leftovers, and if I wanted to cook I would have- I didn't because we enjoyed eating out so much in the local area. we enjoyed this trip so much, and felt so comfortable and relaxed at Sue's Rental that when we are ready to bring our three boys, we will be renting the Chalet from her when we return! Sue's is definitely a repeat vacation stay!!!
