Enjoyed our stay while visiting some friends in DR. The location allowed us to easily get to and from the Airport. The rooms were very clean, updated; the staff was very friendly and took care of every detail; the food was very good with a nice varied selection for breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay albeit finding the price tag a bit too high since this is not a resort. We did have a Royal Suite but it certainly could have been a more manageable price point for what the room offered. Highly recommended for business travelers and easy access to all. We easily traveled to the beach from here with friends.

We spent two nights in this hotel this May during a family vacation in the Dominican Republic.
On the plus side, this is a brand new hotel, with a nice lobby, pool and restaurant. Breakfast was particularly good and service was nice.
On the minus side, it is far from the city center, the rooms have simple furniture that looks already damaged, the bed was a little hard, one morning we had no warm water in the shower.
We glanced at other hotels in the area, this one is possibly one of the better ones, and price/quality ratio is good.
Overall, I would return here but mostly because there are not many other choices in this city.

The Courtyard marriott in Santiago is located on Autopista Duarte, the major highway in DR that passes through Santiago. The hotel is far from downtown Santiago, although they have taxis right at the hotel, and taxis to pick you up if you go somewhere. The good part about this hotel is it's only a mile or so from the airport. Since we had a 6 am departure flight, this was an invaluable component.. as was the free airport shuttle!

The courtyard is brand new.. so there are some hitches. But the service is great! and the rooms are big and clean! Not to mention all the furniture is brand new! The food in the restaurant downstairs is really good also. And the included breakfast is not just doughnuts.. there's a whole buffet!
