PROS: The beds were great - I slept really well! When I closed the curtains, my room was completely dark and quiet. The rooms are spacious and clean. They get plenty of TV channels, even local New York channels. The gym has 2 treadmills and one can do laps in the pool. The wi-fi was relatively fast and free. They provide complimentary bottled water. There is a supermarket nearby (Nacional Supermercado). The casino money changer is better than the frontdesk. Everything in Santiago is 10 - 15 mins away by car.
CONS: The food was ok. The service, as with all things in the DR, is so-so and relatively slow - but this hotel's service is better than others. My colleague arrived to the hotel at midnight and her room service did not arrive until 2 hours after ordering. The electricity goes off for less than 5 minutes once in a while (this is Santiago's problem, not the hotel) - it switched off while I was on the treadmill.
