I was a bit worried when our prefered hotel closed and we were transfered here. There were only 4 british staying at this hotel. rather than this being a bad thing, I was quite glad to get away from the drunken lautish brits. Hotel is perfectly situated to get the train to Barcelona. So perfect to use as a base to explore the whole area. The only down side is that the food was not great quality. If there was a rating for the food it would score less than average.

We really enjoyed our 12 nights stay at the mercury in Santa susanna.
it is Right next to the train station and we visited both barcelona and other cities very easily.
there where a lot of choices in the restaurant although nothing fancy, but we thought it was good for a 3 star hotel.
they did not have connecting rooms, but we got 3 rooms next to eachother.
we stayed at the backside but had ocean view .

Good location - at the end of the promenade. But the room and balcony is really small, absolutely not clean, staff is unfriendly and unpolite - especially a russian lady called Svetlana at the reception. We couldn t have any answer of our questions at the reception (like wi-fi problems, renting scooter or bike, etc.). The hotel itself was packed with russians and spanish people mostly with children. The restaurant is unorganized, they are not able to clean the tables on time, always have to wait to get a table, however the a few of the people do their best. They always took out foods from buffet table when the restaurant was full of people just because the working time was over. And all the foods were really cheap. Especially the coffe - I wouldn t use this expression for that wish-wash we got there...

This hotel does not cater for British tourists,there were only seven Brits while we were there. The majority of guests were Italian, French and German, all seemingly pensioners. There was no comfortable chairs to relax in, the lounge resembled a works canteen, and the dining room was crowded. The food served was ok, but strictly continental taste, not Spanish etc. The cleaning staff were excellent however, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The area is good and handy for jaunts, good shops and train travel. What a pity we all spent our evenings in comfort at other hotels nearby, and our euros!
