“Expensive.. but amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

Ok... let's say the truth, considering that the average price we paid for other Hotel in crete was 35-40 euros.. this was a bit expensive (80 euro, sea view with breakfast).. but was amazing!! the breakfast was really good, lots of choice. We only stayed in Agia Galini 1 night... that's why we decided to spoilt ourself with this place.
Room was really good: clean, spacious, tv, huge bed and a sofa.

Can't find any downside, apart from the price. I really loved it.

“A guarantee for great vacation!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2011

We stayed for a couple of nights in Palazzo Greco.in Agia Galini (S. Crete). We had chosen the hotel, because of the amenities and due to the wonderful photos of its site ( A good one). We were not at all disappointed!! The owner was very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very smartly decorated in minimal style, which we liked a lot. The bed was King size and VERY comfortable, and the bedroom was quite spacious. The colors on the walls are modern and relaxed and the bathroom was clean, newlly renovated and with a great shower cabin. Our balcony had a very nice set of chairs and table and the view was splendid: no obstruct between our balcony and the endless blue of the sea. Two floors below, a very clean swimming pool and a small garden completed the scenery. The hotel provided with 2 WIFIs (one for the lobby area and one for the rooms area) and we found the signal very good . It also provided a computer free to use at the lobby. Next to the lobby, at the "dining room" the breakfast was served. We could also enjoy our brekfast at the terrace, overlooking the sea. The breakfast included several choices, among which home made pies and traditional food.
The hotel is placed between the beach and the center and it is very easy to go anywhere nearby on foot. Moreover, there is a parking lot across the street for the customers of the hotel.
Overall we liked the hotel very much, found the prices normal and the personnel very willing and friendly and would definitely visit it again!!!

Room Tip: the 0 floor is next to the swimming pool.

“Amazing place to rest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

Spent a week in this hotel, and I recommend it strongly to anyone needing rest and quiet at the same time with the amazing sea view. Hotel is located on the cliff, with no view other than the blue of the Libyan sea. Breakfast is ample, and includes freshly baked delicacies. Two minutes from a nice and clean beach, and two minutes from the centre of the village - it allows for resting and comfortable holidays, in unspoiled environment, which is very rare to find.

“Walls as thin as paper”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2010

Nice looking hotel but the walls are so thin you can hear the people in the next room going to the toilet!!! You can hear the people in the rooms above and below too so unless you are elderly or deaf, I'd give this one a miss!!

“Stylish, but low quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2009

The hotel advertises itself as a stylish design hotel. That is basically true, but if you come closer, you can't avoid the feeling that despite the nice look, everywhere you look you see a very poor quality.

We got the biggest suite with two bedrooms and a living room. The space is nice, however:

- The sinks in the main room is a horrible idea. You will have water everywhere.
- The shower looks nice, but as the shower door misses any isolation, it leaks like hell so you end up with a bathroom (with toilet) full of water
- All doors and beds grate
- The sound isolation is poor, so you will here everything from the rooms of other guests
- If it rains, you will have 5 cm of water on your balcony, and would have to wait a day or too for it to dry up
- The curtain cornice will make you afraid it is falling on you every moment
- There is no elevator at all
- The pool is small
- The WIFI signal is poor, you must be lucky to connect from your room
- There is no restaurant or bar. There is only breakfast area. You won't get anything to eat or drink here.
- The breakfast is from 8 to 9:30. If you come at 9, the most favourite food like eggs, sausages will already be eaten by others.
- The personnel is trying to be nice, but is absolutely incompetent - they usual answer if you want anything is "yes buy maybe tomorrow maybe the day after tomorrow" (meaning never)

To sum up, from how the hotel advertises itself, we expected much, much more. I would recommend finding a different hotel.

Dear Sir-Madam,

Thank you for your comments and know that since your review in 2009 many things that you mention have changed and we are all the time working and doing our best towards meeting the high standards that our clients have from the hotel.

You had booked one of the best rooms in our hotel.

- The sinks where taken out of the bathrooms in that room because it can accomodate a large number of people (up to 7) and it is more convenient when more people can use different facilities at the same time, e.g. one friend having a shower while one girl of the company taking her time at the mirror or washing hands. Up till now we had no problem at all with water anywhere different than the sink but in any case the rooms are cleaned daily so much fuss in the rooms is avoided.

- Regarding the shower, the water in the bathroom (in few rooms) was not from the door isolation but from the side in some places where the shower cabin and the wall did not match perfectly and we took care of it with silicone that prevents the water leaking from the shower.

- All doors and beds are constantly taken care of in order to be in the best shape possible while some of them who were problematic have been completely changed.

-Sound isolation is a matter that toubled us a lot but we have taken specific measures that has reduced it a considerably (sound isolation on new rooms, new glass doors etc) and we are constantly looking for ways to upgrade it further e.g. carpet on the stairs that has been ordered for this year, new doors with sound isolation inside the hotel etc.

- Although it rarely rains in Agia galini in summer months, we have taken extra care in cleaning thorougly the drainage pipes every year so that we do not face that problem any more and no water remains at the balcony.

- The curtain cornices have been strenghthen and there is no possibility for them to fall unless someone hangs on it.

- The pool is a bit small due to the very limited space that the hotel has and because of the fact that it was build during the renovation and did not existed in the original construction. Nevertheless until now it covers the needs of a small hotel like ours.

-There were some problems with the wifi at the time that where fixed and it works perfectly at any part of the hotel including inside the rooms as all of the clients that followed can assure. Still we are very sorry for the inconvenience but it was something only a technician could fix.

- Our hotel is too small to have a restaurant but there are many nice restaurants nearby (2 minutes on foot) that offer a great variety of quality meals in very good prices. At the hotel there is a small bar working that offers coffees, refreshments, some sandwitches and drinks that a typical hotel bar has. There is not someone in it all the time but all someone has to do is ring the reception bell in order to be served immediatelly. There are price lists printed at the moment so that the clients know that the bar works and what it is offering.

- The breakfast hours have changed from 8 to 10 in the morning and the variety of the breakfast has greatly improved along with the quantity that leaves no client disatisfied and is considered one of the best breakfast buffets in Agia Galini at the moment.

- The personel is the family that owns the hotel along with 2-3 persons that work in the hotel and even though they are not the best personel a hotel can have, they are doing their best, they try to learn and get better every year, they pay special attention to their work because it is part of their life and they are proud of continuing a bussiness that was started from their father 20 years ago and manages to remain one of the best choises for staying in this small village.
We are doing our best to take care of things immediatelly and solve situations that arise in the best way and as soon as possible, but since we are away from the big cities of the island (1 hour from Rethymno and Heraklion) something that is considered easy and quick to be taken care of in the cities (e.g. fixing the wireless) could take more in this small village until the technician arrives and this does not mean that we do not take immediate attention to things we can take care of ourselves or that our attitude is in any way disrespectful to the people that choose our hotel for their vacation.

In conclusion, we are very sorry that your stay in the hotel was not as you imagined, as you see from the answer we are always taking into consideration the guests problems and proposals and we solve every matter as soon as possible according to the difficulty of each solution.

That is why we have also printed questionairs so that the clients can make their comments for the improvement of the hotel directly to the management and we take extra attention to their needs in order to be satisfied.

We are always glad to see our old clients back and to show that we have seen the mistakes or the deficiences our hotel might have and that we keep constantly improving our facilities and services.
