“Beautiful view and fantastic hospitality!”

I loved this place! I had been nervous to stay here because I could not find any reviews but it turned out to be fantastic and I will stay again. I had booked online via booking.com and wrote to the hotel via email. They responded most of the time. Some small places in Greece tend to take their time to answer you via email if at all. However, when I arrived very late and hungry ,the owner's grandson George assisted me with parking my car, taking my luggage up to my room and providing a plate of this grandmother's food! The family happened to be having dinner w/ friends when I arrived. They also gave me wine and and kept asking if there was anything I needed. I originally booked a studio but decided to upgrade to an apartment. It was lovely. The room and entire hotel was kept very clean and everything was furnished nicely. Paint was fresh on the walls and tiles on the floors and bathrooms were nice. The kitchen had 2 hot plates for cooking, some glasses and pots and pans for basic needs. There was a small refrigerator as well. No hairdryer but that is normal. Only a small standup shower but again normal for Greece and an island. There was an air conditioner in the bedroom only but I hardly used it because of the nice breeze at night. It's common to not have much air condition in small places in Greece. There are mosquito's in the area at night so bring bug spray. However not a big deal. It was an easy walk down the hill from the hotel to the center of town. Not too bad of a walk back up unless you are lazy. The area has some restaurants and bars open at night with nice music. This is a place to go and relax, enjoy the view and water not to club. I rented a car and it was only a 15min drive to Iraklio if you wanted to club or have a night in the city. The parking was free at the hotel. They also had free wifi in the lobby you could use. No telephone in your room but again something normal. I used my skype to make calls or the hotel will make a local call for you in the lobby. Very romantic, simple place with character and great view. The pool was very clean and nice to sit at. I really loved it here and the family who owned it made it a special time.

5th stay here. Part of a complex owned by the same family..Myconos Beach and Myconos Bay Hotels..The Irida is a small, complex of large studios and apartments. They are doubling the size and adding a pool, and soon will be the "Iris"..this is a wonderful location, only 10 minute walk to town. Immaculate and spacious mini apartments with huge balconies overlooking Megali Ammos Beach and the bay..(located on a hill behind the famous windmills). The father-son owners and Manager "Pudgie" are warm, welcoming and constantly improving. Our room was outfitted with mini range, refrig, coffee maker, hairdyer, deep tub,ac, tv,and great beds! We love this place..and always immaculate.
