The Mühlbach Haus is a hotel, and not a B&B. As other reviewers mentioned the food is great ( both dinner and breakfast ). The owner is of Dutch origin, so next to German both English and Dutch are no problem. The rooms are rather small ( shower/toilet room of n°7 is miniscule ). The water reservoir in our room n°3 was leaking ( inside ), making a dripping noise throughout the night. We had also quite some noise from the restaurant area right below our room.
The village, Abenden is rather nice, with nice hiking possibilities. It is 51K from Aachen. So it is a nice place, but at 60€ per room per night, only average price/quality .

“A great little place near Aachen”

I was actually looking for the hotel in this quiet little German town where my wife and I celebrated our wedding 23 years ago. That hotel was closed, unfortunately, but I found the Haus Mühlbach instead. It's run by the same people who ran the other place (the Andersch family). Friendly and helpful staff (don't know about their English). Very simple, small rooms, and possibly the world's smallest bathroom, but the house is charming, it's wonderfully quiet, and for 35 Euros, I think it's a pretty good deal. Perfect for a short stay and in the middle of a very pleasant part of Germany.
