“Wonderful find in Provence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

Mas Perreal is a beautiful B&B surrounded by a gorgeous vineyard. I wish we could have stayed longer and had another breakfast! I echo all of the comments already made re the food and the graciousness of our hosts. Kevin was always patient and accommodating making recommendations and also booking reservations for us. The room was large and well appointed with a rainwater shower head along with the standard hand-held shower head. I also appreciated the common room where we could go to have wine and play cards and make tea. There was a small terrace outside of our room but the Mistral kept us from using it. The price is an excellent deal for what you get at Mas Perreal. Highly recommended!

“We rate this the best of our 4 week trip in France!”

We chose Le Mas Perreal because of other reviews on TripAdvisor and we are in total agreement with all the positive comments. You'll need a car for this place but if you have one, you won't want to miss this experience.

First, the area around the B&B is gorgeous, exactly what I imagined Provence to be, fields of lavender in full bloom, olive trees, and vineyards. The picturesque town of St. Saturnin les Apt may be small but it had everything we could ask for, some wonderful restaurants, a boulangerie, patisserie, charcuterie and a small market so we could get provisions for delicious picnic lunches. The bonus was we could walk to it by way of small country lanes where cars don't roam.

The room we stayed in was really beautiful with a second bedroom for our 13 year old son. The beds were just right (firm but not too hard), the bathroom was large and wonderfully decorated, we had a small private terrace which we rarely used. The rooms were colorful and tastefully covered with provencal colors. Our hosts left pitchers of ice lemon water for us each day. We had been on the go for a week and a half by the time we reached Le Mas Perreal so we were ready to slow down and this B&B was the perfect place to do just that. The pool is in a very sunny location, surrounded by a grape vineyard, with large shade trees on one side so you can sit in the very comfortable lounge chairs in the cool shade or in the warm sun. We borrowed bikes from the B&B one afternoon and rode around the area before heading up to town to have dinner and met very few cars on the recommended bike route (signs to confirm you were on the route). Mostly, we walked in the morning and returned to hang by the pool in the afternoon. Can you say idyllic?

The best part of this B&B? Well, okay the breakfasts were stellar, we had belgian waffles with fresh fruit and creme fraiche one day, a tasty quiche another and crepes the third. They always served croissants, fresh bread, butter, home made jam, a bowl of fresh fruit, I loved their coffee! But, that wasn't even the best part of this B&B experience! The best part was our hosts. Kevin and Elisabeth are so welcoming and pay such attention to their guests, it really felt like you were visiting friends. Elisabeth is an amazing cook and has a great eye for detail and color around the home. Kevin patiently provides suggestions, maps, descriptions, conversation to each one of the guests. It wasn't unusual to see him surrounded by 3 or 4 guests after breakfast, each seeking directions or ideas, and he graciously provided all of us with great suggestions.

Can't say enough positive things about this B&B, just go and see for yourselves.

“A beautiful end to our vacation”

Our 2 week trip was ending on a relaxing note in the Luberon, which I highly recommend (as long as you rent a car and are comfortable driving on winding roads, so you can fully enjoy the region). My BF wants me to mention here that he was an exceptional driver that never got us lost (thanks to a map that Kevin provided...a good map is also a MUST).

Le Mas is beautiful and everything we expected based on the reviews. The breakfasts are delicious and unique and something to look forward to each morning.

French Country is not my style, but when in France....and Kevin and Elisabeth have done an exceptional job to show off the charms of this area. The bedroom is huge and the bed very comfortable.

We had this HUGE shower that was really fantastic, great water pressure. But we noticed another room had a clawfoot tub and shower. This would've been nice because we were in the region of lavendar and would've bought some lavendar bath crap and enjoyed a bath.

Kevin and Elisabeth have created a book that is in each room with suggestions for restaurants, wine tasting, hikes, everything you could need. They are also happy to help with reservations and suggestions. This was truly a wonderful stay and we would glady return.

PROS: breakfast, comfort, hospitality of Elisabeth and Kevin, funny dogs, location was quite convenient to exploring many areas
CONS: no soap bar, no shampoo nor conditioner (all in one bath wash), no body lotion

“Can't wait to come back”

Stayed here for a few nights in late June. I choose Le Mas Perreal mostly based on the TripAdvisor reviews. We had a great time, the farm is idealy located, it is within 20 minute walking distance of St. Saturnine les Apt, which had 2-3 great restaurants, along with a boulangerie and nice charcuterie. The larger town of Apt is a few minutes by car away, which has a great Saturday farmers market. Many of the popular sites in the Luberon valley are fairly close by, driving was very easy with some help from GPS.

The farm itself is beautiful and so calming. It's surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields are nearby. Be prepared for peace and quiet. Breakfasts are, simply put, amazing. They consisted of croissants, fresh bread, butter, home made jam, a bowl of fresh fruit, and a hot dish, such as waffles, along with tea and coffee. That time was one of my favorite of the whole trip, it's just so peaceful and relaxing, just what I had hoped for a Provence vacation.

I would love to come back, but next time I want to stay for 7-14 days, so that things don't get too rushed and to spend some time relaxing by the pool.

“Ideal Base In the Country To Explore Provence”

Las Mas Perreal is a lovely property about 3 km from St Saturnin-Les-Apt.

Location is wonderful, surrounded by vineyards and cherry trees. Very relaxing, quiet, peaceful and not too far from many of the interesting villages and cities in the Provence such as Rousillon, Gordes, Avignon,Menerbes, Sault, Aix En Provence, Saignon.

Our room on the ground floor was huge, beautifully decorated and furnished in (we think) Provencal style; opened up to a terrace with a view of flowers, vineyard and a pool. The bathroom (bath tube and separate shower stall) was wonderful; bath tub was huge, water pressure was great, one of the best we have encountered during our holday in France. There is lounge (stocked with books) for guests to use.

Breakfast was good, plenty to eat, we had asparagus omelette one day and lovely pancake on another day. This was in addition to the fruit yoghurt, juice, fresh bread and pastries.

What made the place special were the personalities and warmth of the hosts, kevin and Elisabeth. they made sure everyone was well taken care of, helpful with suggestions as to places to eat and visit. A very nice and thoughtful touch was the jug of lemon scented ice water they left in the room for us each evening;

It's the kind of place you want to come back to.
