We chose Le Mas Perreal because of other reviews on TripAdvisor and we are in total agreement with all the positive comments. You'll need a car for this place but if you have one, you won't want to miss this experience.
First, the area around the B&B is gorgeous, exactly what I imagined Provence to be, fields of lavender in full bloom, olive trees, and vineyards. The picturesque town of St. Saturnin les Apt may be small but it had everything we could ask for, some wonderful restaurants, a boulangerie, patisserie, charcuterie and a small market so we could get provisions for delicious picnic lunches. The bonus was we could walk to it by way of small country lanes where cars don't roam.
The room we stayed in was really beautiful with a second bedroom for our 13 year old son. The beds were just right (firm but not too hard), the bathroom was large and wonderfully decorated, we had a small private terrace which we rarely used. The rooms were colorful and tastefully covered with provencal colors. Our hosts left pitchers of ice lemon water for us each day. We had been on the go for a week and a half by the time we reached Le Mas Perreal so we were ready to slow down and this B&B was the perfect place to do just that. The pool is in a very sunny location, surrounded by a grape vineyard, with large shade trees on one side so you can sit in the very comfortable lounge chairs in the cool shade or in the warm sun. We borrowed bikes from the B&B one afternoon and rode around the area before heading up to town to have dinner and met very few cars on the recommended bike route (signs to confirm you were on the route). Mostly, we walked in the morning and returned to hang by the pool in the afternoon. Can you say idyllic?
The best part of this B&B? Well, okay the breakfasts were stellar, we had belgian waffles with fresh fruit and creme fraiche one day, a tasty quiche another and crepes the third. They always served croissants, fresh bread, butter, home made jam, a bowl of fresh fruit, I loved their coffee! But, that wasn't even the best part of this B&B experience! The best part was our hosts. Kevin and Elisabeth are so welcoming and pay such attention to their guests, it really felt like you were visiting friends. Elisabeth is an amazing cook and has a great eye for detail and color around the home. Kevin patiently provides suggestions, maps, descriptions, conversation to each one of the guests. It wasn't unusual to see him surrounded by 3 or 4 guests after breakfast, each seeking directions or ideas, and he graciously provided all of us with great suggestions.
Can't say enough positive things about this B&B, just go and see for yourselves.
