We stayed at Le Boissiere for one week in the summer. We spent a long weekend in the main house, opting for B&B and then spent 4 nights in the 2 bed gite, with another couple. The drive up to the main house and gite is lovely - surrounded by vineyards. The main house B&B was also lovely. Very clean and tidy with a very homely feel. Breakfast was superb with lots of homemade jams and fruits to choose from - sitting out in the main garden. The gite was also lovely. Very quaint. It suited us perfectly as we were out all day (wine tasting with Sylvain - [--] - who organised a trip around 4-5 local vineyards each day). We spent each evening cooking and drinking the wines we had purchased and eating out on the terrace into the small hours. Fantastic. When we booked the accommodation we hadn't read any reviews. Just before we arrived we read the reviews below and were a bit worried. However, the very warm welcome of Ann Marie and the lovely B&B put our minds at rest. The owner was very kind to us and helped source the wine tour and was on hand to recommend local markets during our stay.
The gite did have a few too many cobwebs for us city dwellers - but were quickly removed with the hover available in the bathroom. Guests are meant to clean the house before they leave and I think this policy may explain why the standards may not meet some guests requirements. The owner should perhaps take this on, or charge the Euro35 she charges if you opt not to clean and get someone in each time to do it 'professionally'. Regardless, this didn't in any way impact our holiday and I would recommend the B&B and the gite. An excellent value holiday with good friends, a cosy place to stay and great wines!
