As with the other reviews we all found the welcome and demenour of our host second to none. Situated in the Loir valley it is definitely worth seeing some of the area and you really don't need to travel far to be deep in the countryside. If we were making the trip down again i would probably fly into a local airport then hire a car, as this would be much easier that the trip from Paris we opted for.
The hotel is a mixture of rooms and apartments, i would personally plumb for the Roi d'arthur as ths was very well appointed and spacious. Unlike a chain hotel you need to approach with a much more open mind and enjoy the slight eccentricities, this will lead to a very enjoyable stay.
As you'd expect in France lot's of choices on where to eat, but if you do need to eat in, then the appartments have kitchens with hobs, ovens, grill and mircrowaves so you have all the options available.
Thoroughly enjoyable would definitely recommend.
