Claude, the charming and charasmatic owner, greeted us warmly on arrival and it was lovely to be offered an aperitif after such a long journey. He really makes you feel like you are a special friend staying in his home. The Chateau is full of history and character , we were welcome to come and go as we pleased. The room, Roi d'Arthur, was really a spacious apartment with everything you could need.It was a lovely touch to bring up logs in case we wanted a fire. The gardens were well tended, it's just a pity the weather was too cool to enjoy the pool.Breakfast was varied ( pastries, bread, homemade jams, eggs, fruit etc) and lovely each day- Claude even cooked us an omellette.A visit to the labyrinth is a must..The setting was very peaceful, but with plenty of great restaurants within an easy drive. The village has wineries, a Chateau, a glass maker and is within an hour of major sites such as Le Mans, Tours,Amboise & Chenoceau. It's a great place to relax off the beaten track. What makes this place really special is it's owner Claude who is so passionate and knowledgeable about the area and the history of his home.Gilda,Gerard and everyone we met at Claude's home could not have been kinder or more helpful. If you are looking to get away from it all and love history this is the place for you.
