Arrived at this hotel just before 14.00hrs. We came to visit the famous Braderie in Lille..
No one was at reception!! Was given the key to our room...When we got to the room it had not been cleaned .. I informed the receptionist who shrugged her shoulders and did not appear bothered that A it was not clean and B she had gave us the key to an unclean room .We left our bags in our car and headed off to Lille Centre.We managed to pick up a leaflet on the desk explaining about the bus and metro route into the city.We had a great day browsing the Braderie and of course sampling the Moules and Frites....
Returning to our hotel just after 11.30hrs.We had to wait 15minutes to get in the locked gate..Waiting for a car to come out allowed us to slip in....
No one was at reception...The people in the bar said that the man was here somewhere..I had to go and look for him..He was cleaning another room...Ours it transpires was still uncleaned..We waited until almost 1 oclock in the morning for hime to finish our room...Exhausted we flopped into bed....
The breakfast the next morning was fine.. Better than expected..
We cleared our room and went to reception where i rang the bell 3 times..The receptionist was in the bar area chatting to colleagues and laughing...
I explained about our room where upon she said Yes she knew..I told her it was unsatisfactory. She appeared unconcerned and only after me again insisiting that we did not expect to wait around for our room to be cleaned she gave me 16 euros refund for the breakfast!!!! This is not acceptable and the fact that there was no one more senior to her is a disgrace.....
The hotel needs more staff at busy periods i.e The Braderie and a little bit more compassion shown when they have messed up..
The hotel was adequate for the rating.Clean and tidy just a shame certain members of staff are not more helpful......
