“Beautiful grounds within walking distance of city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

We found this hotel while searching the internet for a reasonable place to overnight in Corte at the beginning of October, We arrived at the hotel and there was a room available for €65. The hotel is located along a river gorge in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The room was quite large with a huge bed. There was a fridge to use and free internet. The receptionist was very friendly, helpful and accommodating, taking us to the room before we accepted. The hotel has an outdoor pool (frigid now!) and a hot tub (not quite hot enough for us). There is a nice garden area by the river where one can sit in peace looking at the mountains and listening to the running water.

The bathroom in the room is quite small, but very well appointed. It looks like it has been completely renovated recently. We walked into Corte in about 15 minutes along a busy road. We would not recommend this walk at night since the road has no lights that we could see.

A buffet breakfast is offered at €10. We declined preferring to eat elsewhere at much less cost. We strongly recommend this hotel for its beautiful pastoral setting, friendly staff, large room and easy walking to the town. The room is very well priced in the low season making this choice even more attractive.

“Fantastic hotel, location great, staff great, helpful, very enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

I read some of the negative reviews but I can only imagine those kind of people would complain about anything and what they claim is the complete opposite what I found. Beautiful spot by a beautiful clean river. Lovely hotel. Very friendly staff and very helpful. I don;t just speak for myself but I speak for my wife and 5 kids. We very much enjoyed our stay, didn't want to leave for Ajaccio and spen the 2nd week wishing we were back there.

“The Manager on duty was not customer oriented !!!.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2010

The place is nice, on the riverside, the swimming pool is OK, Some rooms have been reniewed, and are nice, the others are OK, just a little to dark.
Our room was clean and well furnished.
You need to take a car to go to the city.
The room was so busy during the night, that we were not able to slee. (due to an unexplained reason, the noise was coming from a pump or somethink similar).
The manager of this hotel is not customer oriented, and was very agressive, while we complained about the service.
The parking is very too small, for such quantity of rooms.

“Peaceful hotel with helpful staff”

We stayed here for our honeymoon for 6 nights. We loved the hotel - it was really good value for money! It is situated outside of Corte but we walked into the town every night and it wasn't far.
We were delayed on arriving on our first night and they only man the desk until a certain time. They arranged and paid for us to stay at a nearby hotel for our first night (Hotel HR) and made us feel very welcome when we finally arrived!
Breakfast was good and they served until late morning. On our first day we lounged around by the pool and you can swim in the river at the bottom of the garden.
The staff were helpful and proud of the hotel and of Corte, They were always reccommending places to eat.
It was really peaceful and a perfect haven!

Quite basic, but the hotel has a nice location next to the river and is a good choice if visiting Corte
