My Husband and I stayed here for one night on a business trip. Although the conference room photos are correct, our room in NO WAY resembled the other photos that are shown here. Perhaps we missed some way of choosing a refurbished room? If you are booking there, definitely ask this question. We have found that some Bulgarian hotels are in the process of refurbishment so you can pay a little more for a new room. We definitely got an old room! The service is fine, but totally uninspired. We asked for nothing out of the ordinary, so didn't have much experience of this. Overall, this hotel is nothing special at all. The room was depressing and old and the bed was very uncomfortable. The view is amazing though and the location in the centre of Bourgas is excellent.
Also beware - if you use the lobby toilet - I think it is actually the toilet to the Happy restaurant and although there are no signs, you are required to pay! The female toilet attendant chased me into the lobby demanding money from me (sadly I didn't have my bag with me, so she was not in luck).
Overall - this is NOT a place to stay for a delightful experience. Stay here if you have to. otherwise, definitely go somewhere else.

pleasant stay on 11 th floor for one night, a very good location, in the center of the town near to the restaurants and night bars

Room was nice, bed was big, shower warm but the curtain flies in on you. Maid service was regular. The front desk ladies are horrendous. They alone will stop me from returning, the really are that rude. Refuse to give directions and to check me out. Upon leaving I was actually ask why I picked that time to leave as she had work to do.

We chose Hotel Bulgaria as a cheaper option to the Grand Hotel Pomoritz, for a stay during the fantastic Spirit of Burgas festival. Room was very clean, air-conditioning worked fine, staff were friendly enough. I would suggest to people who complain about the staff (anywhere) being gruff to try a few words in the local language (hello, thank you , please)..the small effort makes a huge difference. The air-conditioning in the lobby and bar wasn't very good, but that seemed to be the norm in Burgas. We had a room on the 10th floor with a fabulous view. Great location, lots of cafes nearby, and within walking distance of the train station. Warning that the pool was not open during our stay, which was quite annoying as part of the reason we chose it was for the pool, but we managed. Otherwise, recommended place to stay.
