We flew here after a week long safari with our four kids in the northern parks in Tanzania. This is a very cute, small hotel with more authenticity than most other locations in Zanzibar. The manager is amazing and helped us with all our needs. The rooms are cute and the location is perfect. Although there are constant power outages and food in all the restaurants takes a very long time, jambiani was a perfect fit for us. The village is very safe and the people are very friendly. The beach is beautiful but swimming is only good when the tide is high. We learned to plan our day around this though and enjoyed the greet pool. We would love to return here anytime. I would recommend this to travelers who prefer less touristy locations.

We had been recommended Casa del Mar by someone in Stonetown and were glad that we had taken found this place as it was great value compared to others in the area.
Wilamina was very attentive and the staff were pleasant and efficient during our visit. We had two nights in the family room upstairs at the end of block overlooking the pool, which appeared to be the best room by far, so we were very lucky. The room was worth the small additional cost, I think.
We took a trip out snorkelling in the reef, which was fun, but other than that spent the time relaxing, swimming in the hotel pool which was lovely, and the sea at high tide. Also enjoyed wandering on the beach and around Jambiani, which is charming.
I thought the hotel's grounds and setting was particularly lovely and would recommend it as a good clean and hospitable place for a family.

I stayed at the Casa del Mar only briefly but would recommend it. The decor in the rooms was nice and they are good-sized. The restaurant is equally tastefully decorated. The grounds/gardens are pretty and the pool is a clean place to cool off from the heat. I was there just before the high season, so the staff was somewhat flexible on the price, but would not bargain a lot. The staff is friendly for the most part, although the manager was a bit gruff. The breakfasts are good, but I didn't take any other meals at the restaurant as the prices are a bit high compared to other places in Jambiani. I liked Casa del Mar and Jambiani in general because they are mellow, quiet places with a slightly older crowd. There were a lot of couples there, so if you are looking to meet people, Jambiani might not be the place for you.

Casa del Mar was the perfect place to relax on the East Coast for 4 days. We spent hours lying on the comfortable beach loungers gazing at the crystal blue water and asking ourselves how we had ended up in paradise!

The pool is definitely one of the highlights of this establishment as it means you can swim any time of day or night, regardless of how far back the tides have retreated. The stunning clear water surrounded by lush tropical plants really is the perfect setting!

There is an amazing attention to detail such as clay pots of water at the entrance to your room and the pool and the restaurant so that you can easily wash away the fine beach sand that clings to everything.

The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated and the generator ensures that you can always sleep under a whirring fan in the heat of the Zanzibari summer despite the constant power-outages on the island, which is a really bonus!
