“Spectacular view and fantastic hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

I thoroughly recommend this B&B. My husband and I stayed for two nights whilst taking a trip round the Spean Bridge/Lochaber area. We had the front bedroom which has a great view to the mountains beyond. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotless. The shower in the en-suite was taller than my 6ft 6" husband which was an added bonus! Teresa and Phillipe were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they also took the time to have a chat. The breakfasts were also excellent and the black pudding is the best I have ever tasted. On the whole, it has to be the best breakfast I have ever had in a B&B! We will definately be back.

Room Tip: Front bedroom has the best view

“Comfortable, friendly hosts and a view to die for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Down from Inverness for just a one night stay while wife and daughter took the 'Harry Potter' train to Mallaig and I did a cycle tour of lochs Eil and Linnhe. Good chat with mine host - another outdoors fanatic. Great place to stay. Very welcoming - these people go the extra mile to make you feel at home. Lots of info in the lounge about outdoor activities in the area, places for evening meals and so on.
Would definitely stay again.

“Fantastic hosts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I stayed here for 3 nights with my father and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts are informative, attentive (but not intrusively so) and thoughtful. Our rooms were comfortable and warm and there were many welcome touches eg electric blankets and menus plus previous guests reviews of local restaurants. The position is great with stunning views. The breakfast is very good. The first night I was disturbed by guests opening and closing doors late at night so the sound proofing isn't amazing however the other 2 nights guests seemed to retire at more or less the same time and there were no disturbances. I should also add that I am a light sleeper and my father wasn't disturbed! I would definitely recommend The Braes.

“Attention to Detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Just one night pre-hillwalk instead of the usual pop-up tent in the glen option (!) and found The Braes really inviting, comfortable and friendly, clearly run by people who know what counts.
No old-style, standard B&B chintz here - instead a spotlessly clean and comfortable environment with several small but significant touches. WiFi availability was a bonus as was the quality of the breakfast which this ex-chef/cook found to be well-cooked, using quality ingredients - not the cheapest option some places (think) they get away with, just to tick the "full Scottish breakfast" box..
All this at very reasonable rates - will be back..

“Hospitality, views & food - superb !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

Stayed here for 3 days, early Sept '11. Have been in this area twice before & realised that you don't have to be in Fort William to get the best out of the general area. Spean Bridge is probably a better choice. The views from The Braes are direct onto the Grey Corries & are stunning, no matter what the weather is doing. The hospitality, friendliness & local knowledge were excellent & the food both delicious & plentiful. The room was warm, comfortable & most importantly, large enough for us & our luggage/walking gear. The drying room was put to good use, as the weather wasn't that kind !
There's plenty of parking too. We would happily re-book for any return visit & that speaks volumes !
