“Lovely hotel, great friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We stayed here in 2008 when it was part of the Comfort Inns. We had a wedding nearby and decided to stay there again this weekend for 2 nights. We arrived on Saturday evening around 7.30 and as we were hungry we didn't bother checking in but went straight to the dining room to get some dinner. We were nicely greeted by the staff, quickly seated and our orders for food and drink taken even though they were quite busy. While waiting for our starters to arrive I went to reception to check in which took all of maybe 2 - 3 minutes. The South African lady on receiption dealt with me very fast and friendly so I was able to go quickly back to dinner. Our dinner and drinks were quite tasty and reasonable priced.

Again at breakfast on both moringings we were quickly seated and served, anytime we needed a member of staff they were always friendly and efficient. I realised yesterday that when checking out I left my phone charger behind. I rang reception, gave them the room number and they took my number and called my back a while later to confirm they had found it and would post it back to me.

The only slight negative I would have about this hotel is the entrance from the main road. Its a bit hard to spot especially in the dark and would greatly do with a lit up sign at the turn off the main road.

“The best Sunday carvery in Antrim”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011 via mobile

It is unfortunate that some people believe there are hidden agendas or "green eyed monsters" involved when reviews are made. It is admirable that people are passionate about their own preferences, but an honest review is simply that. We have eaten here several times and the Sunday carvery is one of the best.

“RESTAURANT - NOT RECOMMENDED ON SUNDAY EVENING!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

My husband and I visited the hotel on Sunday evening for what we had hoped would be a nice meal afterall it is the Halloween weekend so we were sure there would be some atmosphere. We were told that last orders in the restaurant was 8.30pm so we got there at 8.00pm - to find only two tables occupied who were on coffee and ready to depart. We also found the staff were more interested in setting up for breakfast the next morning rather than seeing to our needs - having to wait to be seated at a table, and eventually having our order taken. The food was just ok but what intrigued us more was the price of the wine list - the wine is priced well above any restaurants in the surrounding area. We being wine lovers always have a bottle with dinner but chose not to cause we were seriously "being stroked" when we looked at these prices and opted for 2 quarter bottles at £3.95 each. (which if we had of had 4 bottles at £3.95 would still have worked out cheaper than the same wine being sold by the bottle - £2 cheaper in fact!) We chose only to have a main course, which as I say was ok, as we didnt want to be in the restaurant that lacked people & atmosphere and feeling we were in the way of the staff getting set up for breakfast and get home! I actually felt sorry for any residents that were staying at the hotel because as we were driving away from the hotel there were that many areas where the lights were switched off - it looked like the place that time forgot!

If you want good service & atmosphere on a Sunday evening for dinner - stay away!

“Cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in”

Arrived late in horrible weather. Was greeted by friendly welcoming staff.
I found out in the morning that some of the guests were being put up in the hotel because their homes had been flooded.

Scrambled egg was a little watery, but it is certainly the cleanest place I've ever stayed in

“A Great Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I must say that with all the brilliant reviews on this hotel I was a bit sceptical. But they were right, and I am very glad that we picked The Dunsilly for our stay. My husband and I had some business to do in Ballymena, so we stayed there for three nights. It is ideal for a quiet break. It's a little out of the way to get there, but well worth it. The hotel has two floors. But what I liked about it was that the bedrooms were on one side of the hotel and the bar restaurant and function rooms were on the other, with reception in the middle. And although there was a wedding there that weekend. We didn't hear a sound. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Moira one of the receptionists was very pleasant and helpful and had a very cheery disposition. And Jonathan in the restaurant did his utmost to make sure we were ejoying ourselves. The food was excellent and cooked exactly how we asked for it to be done. The room and bathroom were spotless and the bed was so comfortable, I wanted to take it home with me. There was a car boot sale just up the road on the Satuday which we dropped in on. Apparently it's on every Saturday. We visited the Giants Causeway which is a must for any visitor and also did a tour of the Bushmills Distillery. We were very lucky that the weather was in our favour and this made it all the more enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again and would higly recommend it.
