We stayed in this hotel for a night while visiting the local vineyards.

The hotel felt like a place that has not changed since the80s: dated decor, smell of cigarettes on the hallway. Only the manager of the reception spoke any English so it was very difficult to get our booking sorted, let a lone to get some useful information on places to eat that would not involve driving (i really wanted to have some wine with my dinner). It also has no Wi-Fi.

On the plus side the rooms were spacious and the views of the river were amazing.

The last straw which pushed me to write this review was the leaflet in the room warning us about not leaving any valuables in the room and not to let any repair men in; they were not reassuring. And though we had no problems at all, we were not very conformable staying and were happy to leave the next morning.

We were on a 2 and a half week trip in Portugal with my sister-in-law. Our booking in a nearby Pousada was lost in cyberspace and the Pousada booked us into this hotel where we stayed one night. Our rooms were 120€/night and were suites, very nicely furnished. The bathroom was quite elegant. Sadly it was too hot to use the balcony. The breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was excellent. The location was perfect for us since we were exploring the Douro Valley. The staff were very helpful, made a reservation for us in a local restaurant that was superb, Restaurante Douro In.

Beautiful hotel, views magnificient. Have a room with balcony which overlooks the Douro River and swimming pool. Bedrooms & facilities were very nice and restaurant was OK too. Would definitely stay again.
