“Fantastic Family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Myself, husband and daughter, 9, loved it here. Food was good, supermarket on site had plenty of choice. Weather was fantastic and there are about 5 pools. If one is busy find another and you will get one with a lounger ! Entertainment was reasonable. Each restaurant had a singer every night and there was a family show each night for the kids in the outdoor theatre. You can walk to the local village Pescheira which is lovely. We got the cheap train to Venice. We had to stand all the way but, boy, it was worth it ! Sirmione nearby is gorgeous too and definitely worth a visit. The food onsite was good and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend.

“A great holiday guaranteed”

We went to Bella Italia in August 2011 as a family of 5 - kids are 12,10 and 4 and we stayed in Keycamps 2 bed mobile home with airconn (which is a must given it was 30+Degrees every day). The location is fantastic and the views of the lake are breathtaking - Hiring a boat from down in the town is recommended as a great way to explore. The local town is well kept, interesting and has some good shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a train station which goes regularly to Venice and Milan (although Milan all but closes in August)
The Bella Italia site itself is large but well maintained and with excellent facilities - all 3 restaurants on site are good value and of a good quality. The Gelataria (sp) is always busy and reasonably priced too. The local shop/supermarket is very good value and if you spend over 20 euros you get a free bottle of wine - there is no need to go and find a bigger one. The pools are busy but I disagree with the negative comments about it being impossible to find a sunlounger - we didnt have a problem finding enough for our family at any time of day and this is peak season. For older children there are many sports clubs and activities, for the younger ones the early evening disco/entertainment is quite good fun, if a little repetitive into the 2nd week. The entertainment and bar staff were all good, polite and helpful. The majority of holidaymakers are Dutch with Brits and Germans being in a small minority along with a few other nationalities. This cant be a bad thing. If you treat the site as a base you will find lots of interesting coastal towns to visit and going to Verona is a must as it is only 40 minutes away-although be prepared to pay through the nose for food and drink there. The whole family enjoyed the holiday and I cannot think of any negative things to say - if you like a mixture of food, culture, sunshine and splashing around with the family then this is the place to start.

Room Tip: There is a mixture of tents, mobile homes and apartments, the mobile homes probably offer better sle...

“Good for families”

I stayed here when I was younger. It is a great place to stay for a young family. There's plenty to keep kids entertained, including a pool(that can get VERY busy), football and basketball, table tennis and a games room. The take away food is nice and cheap, and the site is right on the beach which is great. It's also close enough to easily go to Preschiera and Sirmione. Venice and Verona is also in driving distance for a day trip. I'd say this is ideal for families wishing to visit the area.

“Bungalow Bella italia pescheira, lake garda,June ,July 2011”

We are a family of four. Two boys ,just 15 and 12. We normally rent a private villa but this time did not want the hastle of renting a car. We went with a tourist agent falcon . The luxury of having someone meet you at the airport and bring you to the site was great. I got a bit of a shock when I heard that there were 8000 people on site but to be honest it is very well designed and you would not know that this was it's capacity. There are bungalows, which we stayed in and mobile homes of all shapes and sizes. There is also a hotel but we did not go there. The bungalows were lovely, functional and clean. They do not have an oven so it is worth while buying a little kettle BBQ in the supermarket on site at the beginning of the holiday if you are going to eat in a lot.
There is a big supermarket up the road and if you go to reception they will order a taxi for you to take you there, you can do a big shop but be aware of the size of your fridge!
There is a supermarket on site, good value but the vegetable shop is outrageously expensive.
You will have neighbours on either side of you and across the way so do not go here if you need total privacy, it is fine once you accept this!
There are many swimming pools which are busy. We went to the lake most days, it is

gorgeous, the beach is stony but you can buy booties in the shop cheaply. Everyone wears
them.(well nearly everyone!)
The boys loved the pedaloes, which are for rent for 9 euro an hour on the lake. Just turn left
as you come out the gate. Great value for money.
We did the tour of the lake, we stated at 9am and didn't get back until 7pm. There are many beautiful towns along the way , you start by bus and then get the boat limone for riva. It is well worth it and we had a great tour guide .
We also did the tour of Verona, that was definitely worth a day trip also.the guys loved the roman amphitheater , we went off on our own to the theatre which dates to 100bc . This was built upon again as early as the 10th century but a rich merchant discovered the theatre underneath and bought the land and paid for the excavation. It was just dripping in history.
We went to lunch many times in pescheira, plenty of places to go. We went to dinner in the restaurant upstairs next to the beach over the bar staff are lovely and food good.la terrazzo.

The same cannot be said for the restaurant pizzeria Corte Riga.the setting is beautiful but it is as if the staff hate working there they were the opposite of what we are used to from Italian hospitality and the food wasn't,t great either except for the pizzas.
Go to gardaland.give seaworld a skip.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday, the site is next to the lake and only a 10 to 15 minute
walk to pescheira. The weather is gorgeous. We normally go to Tuscany and to be honest it is very different from Tuscany but absolutely beautiful in it's own way.
Would we go back to Bella Italia campsite again? No . There is too much of the world to explore. Although I did meet a man who's family have been going back for eight years. It all depends on what you want.

Room Tip: Unless you like noise ask for a bungalow away from the pool

“Good and bad points”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

We stayed at Bella Italia in July 2010 for one week. Our children at the time were 9, 7 and 3. For a start we found the weather too warm and clammy - though I know that's not Bella Italia's fault.

We booked independently with the campsite and stayed in one of their bungalows. Very expensive (€1500 for the week) but there was plenty of room and it was fairly well-equipped, though I was frustrated at having no oven!

The pools were fantastic. The kids loved the slides. There was an aqua aerobics class every morning though disappointedly only lasted 10-15 minutes.

In the evening times, we would walk down to the lake situated outside the back gate of the campsite.

The best thing about this campsite is the excellent entertainment. It was the best I ever saw in any campsite or hotel I've stayed in. There was a production every night, be it a play a sketch or a Riverdance - all followed by a kiddies disco. It was lovely to cool down every night at the entertainment centre.

There is a good restaurant situated beside the lake which serves lovely dishes at reasonable prices.

Would I go back to Bella italia, maybe not!
