We are a family of four. Two boys ,just 15 and 12. We normally rent a private villa but this time did not want the hastle of renting a car. We went with a tourist agent falcon . The luxury of having someone meet you at the airport and bring you to the site was great. I got a bit of a shock when I heard that there were 8000 people on site but to be honest it is very well designed and you would not know that this was it's capacity. There are bungalows, which we stayed in and mobile homes of all shapes and sizes. There is also a hotel but we did not go there. The bungalows were lovely, functional and clean. They do not have an oven so it is worth while buying a little kettle BBQ in the supermarket on site at the beginning of the holiday if you are going to eat in a lot.
There is a big supermarket up the road and if you go to reception they will order a taxi for you to take you there, you can do a big shop but be aware of the size of your fridge!
There is a supermarket on site, good value but the vegetable shop is outrageously expensive.
You will have neighbours on either side of you and across the way so do not go here if you need total privacy, it is fine once you accept this!
There are many swimming pools which are busy. We went to the lake most days, it is
gorgeous, the beach is stony but you can buy booties in the shop cheaply. Everyone wears
them.(well nearly everyone!)
The boys loved the pedaloes, which are for rent for 9 euro an hour on the lake. Just turn left
as you come out the gate. Great value for money.
We did the tour of the lake, we stated at 9am and didn't get back until 7pm. There are many beautiful towns along the way , you start by bus and then get the boat limone for riva. It is well worth it and we had a great tour guide .
We also did the tour of Verona, that was definitely worth a day trip also.the guys loved the roman amphitheater , we went off on our own to the theatre which dates to 100bc . This was built upon again as early as the 10th century but a rich merchant discovered the theatre underneath and bought the land and paid for the excavation. It was just dripping in history.
We went to lunch many times in pescheira, plenty of places to go. We went to dinner in the restaurant upstairs next to the beach over the bar staff are lovely and food good.la terrazzo.
The same cannot be said for the restaurant pizzeria Corte Riga.the setting is beautiful but it is as if the staff hate working there they were the opposite of what we are used to from Italian hospitality and the food wasn't,t great either except for the pizzas.
Go to gardaland.give seaworld a skip.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday, the site is next to the lake and only a 10 to 15 minute
walk to pescheira. The weather is gorgeous. We normally go to Tuscany and to be honest it is very different from Tuscany but absolutely beautiful in it's own way.
Would we go back to Bella Italia campsite again? No . There is too much of the world to explore. Although I did meet a man who's family have been going back for eight years. It all depends on what you want.
Room Tip: Unless you like noise ask for a bungalow away from the pool
