“I never wanted to leave!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

IN ENGLISH:
I am 45 years old and have traveled the world. I was a bit skeptical about booking Antica Fonte Resort for our honeymoon. Having just returned from our 10 day trip to Italy, where we spent 2 days in Florence, 3 days in Rome and the final part of our stay at Antica Fonte Resort, near Casole D' Elsa, we want to pack up and go back. The peacefulness, cleanliness, off the grid location with fantastic people running the place, has become a destination for my wife and I for years to come. This is not just a hotel resort, the care and warmth from the staff of the Antica Fonte Resort, makes it a place to completely unwind and relax. The price to value is outstanding. I felt guilty paying as little as we did for the 5 day stay. My wife and I enjoy the finer things in life and we this resort far exceeded our expectations. A brisk walk, through vineyards, 800 meters from the resort lies the town of Casole D' Elsa, where the food and wine are abundant and the pace is perfect for relaxing and enjoying yourself . Within 30 kilometers, you can get to a vast number of winemakers and hilltop towns. Please feel free to post a reply to ask any questions you might have. If this is your first trip to Tuscany, as it was for us, this is THE perfect choice. PS. the grounds keeper and gardener has become an acquaintance whom shares my love of hunting pheasants. The area is near by a local protected reserve. I saw no less than 50 Roosters as we drove into and out of the place each day. My family and I will return to hunt with him one of these days.

“Perfect stay in perfect enviorment.”

We spent a week in Antica in July this summer.
We loved it!
Our stay with friends to us and their daughter in the same age was as good as it gets. Rented an apart. with 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms!!
Small kitchen and living room with eating place and sofa and all. A huge sitting area outside and area for the girls to run around on. Perfect!
Somewhat older feeling in the apartments, but clean and very functional!

The pool area is just awesome and the location seems at first a bit tricky, but shows to be just great.
The resturant in the area is closed, for good?, but that never disturbed us at all. Either you eat in the apartment or you go to some of the smaller towns/villages in the near suroundings!

Will for sure go back!

“Lovely quiet and in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

Just returned from Antica Fonte. Very good, small and quiet complex. We would easily reccomend the place to families and it is a very easy drive to Siena, San G, Volterra etc.

Its a bit difficult to find but basically there are small signs on the SP27 and its at the turning for the football gfround then follow the dirt track.

Extremely clean with good quality accomodation and lovely gardens in a secluded rural setting. We had Rosa 4a which was upstairs and had an extremely large balcony. If booking you should be aware that the website is out of date and that for a/c you will need to find another 80 euros (a bit steep) and 60 euros for a final clean. There is no maid service for a one week stay or change of linen unless you ask. Also the restaurant next door is no longer open so a small drive into the village is needed (but worth it as there are several good places to eat, drink etc). The village is quiet but very pretty as well and has everything you need for basics. We were lucky that the village arts festival was on 26/28 June so it was v buzzy.

“Under the Tuscan sun”

Antica Fonte is in the Siena region of Tuscany, so many beautiful places to visit are in easy reach of this resort by car.

The apartments are clean, and are equipped with most of the amenities that are required to make your holiday stay perfect.

The swimming pool cannot be faulted, hours of fun and soaking up the Tuscan sun for all the family, with gorgeous scenery all around.

We would definitely recommend this resort for a family holiday.

“Tasteful Tuscany”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2008

We searched for weeks to find the perfect place to stay for our families 2 week summer holiday, and finally chose Antica Fonte Resort.

It was the perfect place for what we were looking for and in the perfect location too!!

The complex is quite small, 15 apartments altogether.

It has an onsite restaurant, which we frequently used, the staff are so very friendly, make you feel at home, and the food is excellent aswell. Some of our family members really enjoyed the pizza evenings, such good value!!!!

Some of us had upper floor apartments with large terraces and others had ground floor apartments, with good sized gardens.
All had table, chairs and parasols. Perhaps sunbeds would have been a nice little extra for the terraces and gardens.

All the apartments are clean and comfortable and have plenty of bathrooms, one to each bedroom, plus extra.

Just a couple of things we missed in the apartments, that was an oven, and washing machine. Although there are washing
facilities near reception, with one washing machine and iron and ironing board. (the washing machine was broken for most of our stay)

Everything else about the apartments were great!!

The swimming pool is fantastic!!! We spend a few days just relaxing and having fun at the pool. It's split into 3 levels. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols.

The grounds are kept beautiful, there is a small childrens play area, with slide and swings.

Elena (at reception)is very helpful and friendly, she helped us organise a few of our trips.

We went to Siena, Voltarra, San Gimignano, (all close by to the resort approx 25-40mins drive) Local towns.... Casole d'elsa, is the closest to the resort (can even reach by foot) which had a couple of restaurants, bakers, bar, grocery, etc. Colle d'elsa is very close too.(short drive away)

We took a bus to Florence for the day, which was very busy, and expensive. (It was our least favourite)

Other places of interest we went to was Montepulciano and Pienza, both are lovely.

We also went to Radda and Castellina in the Chianti region,
which we really enjoyed. (thanks to Laura another tripadvisor member for advising us to visit : )

On the day of returning home, we had a late flight so we took advantage of visiting Lucca and Pisa also.

All our family had a wonderful time. Thanks to all the Antica Fonte staff :-)

We highly recommend the resort.
