Brilliant hotel. We had the best room with 2 balconys looking out over the beautiful lake. The staff were fabulous. Ezio and Tiziano couldn't do enough for us. We ate in the hotel the first night and the food and service was superb. A very welcoming breakfast was laid out each morning. This hotel is right on the lake (unlike other hotels which have the road between them and the lake). The bus drops you off right at the door. Our room was quite large by Italian standards and we cóuldn't believe how big the bathroom was. (We had heard that bathrooms in Italy were tiny but certainly not at this hotel). We were there in winter and a lot of the restaurants were closed but Ezio and Tiziano were happy to ring around and find out what was open for us. We caught the ferry to from Menaggio to Varenna and Bellagio and recommend you visit all three places. I highly recommend this hotel.

I am writing this review looking over the lake to the lights of Bellagio. It is beautiful here. I will qualify this review by saying that we have the best room in the place. Definitely try and get a corner room with a balcony. We pulled the bench from the foot of our bed out on our private balcony so that we'd have a place to sit and enjoy the unobstucted view. It is a very tight fit but works for us.

The customer service has been great. We missed our flight to Milano due to a late connection so we could not arrive until the second night of our reservation. They did not charge us for the first night even though their cancelation policy said otherwise. We were so grateful.

Nice bathrooms with towel warmers but you are out of luck if you require a shower, at least in our room. The deep two person tub more than made up for it. We couldn't be happier. btw earplugs would be helpful if you are sensitive to road noise. Enjoy!

Super friendly staff. Great balcony room - we couldn't stop going out on it to see the stunning and magical views. Easy walk to the ferry (12 Euros each for an all day pass). Visited Bellaggio and Varenna. Highly recommend both. The ferry runs every half hour so it's simple to follow and shouldn't be missed. The whole hotel is beautiful - even the halls have hand painted floral designs, thick carpeting and shiny shoe polishers, The rooms are all super upgraded, very comfortable and quiet. Lots of built in closets, a safe and a refrigerator. The restaurant is absolutely lovely, with great lake views, terrific polished wait staff and wonderful food. The buffet breakfast included fresh hot bread and rolls, brie, salami choices, fresh fruit, home made jams, croissants and danishes, hard boiled eggs, pears and peaches in juice, and more. You will definitely be very impressed. We made little sandwiches for the road and they worked out well. The fresh coffee (or Capuccino) was good and served in nice china cups and saucers.

There is a small parking lot which worked out perfectly since it was off-season and not a problem getting spots. Even if you do not get a spot, there is plenty of parking close by, so it would not be a problem.The gas station across the street had a small grocery store inside where we purchased soda, water and snacks. This was a nice surprise as it is sometimes not easy to find these items on he road.

Make sure your camera battery is fully charged. This is a stunning area and you will be taking a lot of pictures. Be sure to visit the old church in Bellaggio - it's all the way to the left when you get off the ferry and up the road from the big hotel. It's from 1560 and has a great feel to it.

The manager opened up the buffet early just for us as we had an early flight. Now that's going above and beyond. I can't tell you how much we appreciated that.

It's a long way up the lake, but believe me, this hotel is worth the drive. Have a great time.

We were really looking forward to our stay at this hotel after looking at all of the great reviews on Trip Advisor, but unfortunately felt a bit let down when we arrived. Although the staff were fabulous, very friendly and welcoming and breakfast on the balcony overlooking the lake was really lovely, our room was nothing more than average. We were on the road side of the hotel, rather than facing the lake, so it may have been for that reason that the room felt like nothing special, but it just felt a bit dark and overpriced for what it was. Maybe I would be writing a different review if we had had a different room. The hotel is well located for taking the boat to visit the other places on Lake Como, I recommend booking the day ticket for the slower boats during the day, but if you fancy popping over to Bellagio for dinner you can pay a small supplement to take the fast boat which is basically like a hovercraft that takes you from Tremezzo to Bellagio in about 3 minutes!! Would probably choose to stay in Bellagio next time as Tremezzo, and this hotel just lacked something for me.
