“What a Gem!”

Stayed here for a New Year getaway and it was an absolute delight. The apartment is beautiful and has everything you would need. The view is stunning and it was lovely sitting on the balcony in the winter sun.

The host, Jennifer, was wonderful. We arrived on Boxing Day and knowing Italy with shops likely to be closed she made sure we had food to keep us going until we could go to the shops ourselves. Upon our arrival she was very informative about the area with maps and information on the easiest way to drive into Rome.

My only advise is to make sure you have researched the location as it can be a little hard to find, although Jennifer did meet us to show us exactly where it was.

I cannot say enough good things about this apartment. I would recommend this to anyone and hope to return in the future.

“Absolutely lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

What a wonderful little gem. A gorgeous apartment tucked away in a cobblestone street in the tiny historic center of Palestrina, about a 45 minute drive from the hustle and bustle center of Rome. I spent one night here as a weekend getaway and I only wish I could have stayed for at least a week if not more!
The furnishings are beautiful, you can see the apartment was restored with loving care and such meticulous attention to detail.
Jennifer, the hostess and owner, is truly wonderful, explaining everything you need to know on arrival and a great source of knowledge about the local area.
Everything you might need you'll already find inside the apartment, from all the necessary utensils for cooking at home, along with cooking staples like olive oil, salt, etc., to a wide selection of DVDs and information about the local area.
The bed was so comfortable! It's super super quiet there too.
We loved the little balcony that overlooks the valley. It was goregous at night. My travel companion said it looked like a nativity scene, with all the glowing lights below.
I highly recommend Altavista, I can't wait to find an excuse to go back. Our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time. Gorgeous.
